Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Its nothing to do with money though - take Mendes link away and they'll have struggled to have signed some of the players they have.

Therefore again - size of owners pockets means little unless the top manager and right recruitment is in place.

Something we messed up with until we finally saw sense and brought in Ancelotti.
Exactly my point, the owners will hire someone to run the club like city did. Unless the king of Saudi arabia moves to Newcastle.

If the money is there they will get him.

If managers were told we would have 500m to bring in players (and manager compo) to spend in 3 years under moshiri we too could have gone for decent managers.
Havrey0123 be careful, harsh reality for some on here is like a lottery win, it doesn't come easy. Three months ago the screams of " we are going down " could be heard at the four corners of the Country, now a team like Newcastle IF taken over by the Saudi PIF and with massive investment, are still light years behind Everton! Not delusions of Grandeur by Newcastle fans, but utter madness from some Everton fans who seem to think that they are part of an elite Club. You couldn't make it up, you really couldn't.............oh wait a minute, sniggers

It DID work for City. Literally overnight.

It DID work for City, literally overnight. What has a decade got to do with it. Nothing ! There's only one Club can challenge City at present, Liverpool. Some hack has said that people saying the PIF will not invest in Newcastle is crazy. Money is not an object really, they have a painting on one of their yachts worth £400 million. !!!. The word investment is the operative word. They won't just buy and leave it at that. Where they can throw money at Newcastle, they WILL and they have serious ambitions got Newcastle. What's crazy about it is being a billionaire doesn't seem to cut it now, you have to be a multi billionaire ! Do Newcastle fans card about the human rights, probably yes but will look the other way. Thirteen years of Ashley spending an average of 7.5 m a season on players, who can blame them. All this utter garbage about " I would hate the Saudis as owners " is laughable and pathetic. Henry Winter is spot on, Clubs will be worried about Newcastle's spending power but it is undoubtedly going to make the Premiership more exciting.

When City did it it was only them and Chelsea who could compete for players.

Good luck doing it while Everton, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Spurs, West Ham, Arsenal, City and Wolves can all match the wages you offer.

Everton have spent 500m on players in 3 years and we have gone from 7th to 12th, so good luck thinking cash is king in the bloated Premier League.

Sorry I stopped reading after you said " oil magically recovers ", sniggers. Really, everyone buying electric motors. Said on my net programme on 5 live that the oil market will recover extremely quickly. Your point about years behind. I refer back to my earlier question. " where do you think you are ". It wasn't three months ago you were in the bottom three and threads like " whey're going this time ," and " relegation is inevitable " were posted regularly. We haven't won anything for ,57 years but it's been decades for you too. If you think Newcastle - nor any Club - with heavy investment are " many years " behind you, I suggest you are the deluded one. You never came back with one cogent argument saying that with investment, a good Manager we could push for a top six place. Why not.? You as a Club are no where near being years ahead of Newcastle. As for Pochattino not coming to Newcastle - ever, we'll see. I'm a realist, said with significant investment Newcastle could compete. That argument is irrefutable. Fans will look at their Club with rose tinted glasses but you're view of Everton's current standing on the PL is utterly delusional. Keep taking the Olanzapiine son, remember max dose is 20mg a day. Sleep well and be safe.

You said oil would magically recover. You've repeated it above. I think that shows how naive you are really. This is an enormously severe issue for oil. It's a substantial hit for Saudi. I don't know the impact it may have on Newcastle, but there will be some impact. We are moving away from oil. As we do, their influence and money with their economy it will be pose enormous questions.

Where are a team who has consistently finished in the top 8 and has played in Europe semi regularly over a 10 year period. We are not in a great position at all, but we are miles ahead of you. I cant even remember the last time you were in Europe. These things matter.

I have no made any argument you cant compete to finish in the top 6. If you get the investment you think you will, if you get a top manager and a good process in terms of recruitment, this is a realistic goal. Theres an awful lot of variables in that. That is where we are now, and where we have been for about 15 years. But I agree with you. If everything goes right for you, you probably get to where we currently are now (or where Wolves are).

What you said, if you would be competing with Liverpool and City. That's ludicrous. It's as ludicrous as your idea oil is going to go back to "normal". There is no normal. Its genuinely ludicrous, under Steve Bruce are going to emulate one of the greatest club sides ever.

I don't think I've said Poch wont go to Newcastle. He could. I think hes overrated. Hes never won anything. He attracted nobody of note to Tottenham. Maybe he will do well, but hes not a game changing manager for transfers.

What is delusional amount me saying, in the last 3 completed seasons weve finished in the top 8? This is just a fact. You're not in any position to go lecturing anyone on being delusional, given the absolute garbage could come out with.

I tell you what, as you're so confident in oil, go and plunge your life savings into it, as you'll make a fortune. Not only would I not sell to you at 100$, I wouldnt trade with you at 30$ currently.

But under City the money in the game was far less and there was no FFP. It also didnt happen overnight at all. It took them 4 or 5 year to win the league, even without the above impediments.

City were also miles ahead of where you are now when taking over.

Exactly my point, the owners will hire someone to run the club like city did. Unless the king of Saudi arabia moves to Newcastle.

Staveley will run the club. The reality is though, Abramovich runs Chelsea, and the Sheikh goes to every City home game. Its central to them. If the Saudis do that, then yes maybe they get that investment.

However I suspect they will treat it as investors do. Someone else will run it, and they will want a return from it, as they would with a fairly peripheral investment.

" Don't care about what you're saying ". Topic has 137 posts suggests otherwise don't you think, sniggers. Any team that can invest large amounts of cash WILL make the PL more competitive and hence more exciting. Gonna be really hard for any Club outside the top " six " just to qualify for a European place. Henry Winters piece in the Telegraph on the takeover of Newcastle and his assertion that other Clubs will be worried about a resurgent Newcastle is spot on. As I say 137 posts on this subject suggests fans won't be happy for the takeover to happen. To spout human rights as a reason may be a truism, however, we all know that it's a Newcastle with huge Investment that's gonna be the real reason for the " outcry ". Now, carry on not being bothered.
Yawn. Why not go on your own forum to discuss being taken over by a bunch of war criminals and spare us your embarrassing minuscule club mentality. Or has the internet not reached most of Newcastle yet?
