Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

And they buzz off it because it makes them feel like they’ll actually be remembered for something.
Keegans 'I'd love it' interview.
That game against the RS.

And, yep, that's pretty much all I can remember about Newcastle in the Premier league.

I’m just a bit meh, not even arsed about it all.

It’s been going on for years, there’s talk of Ashley lending people involved money. It just doesn’t smell like a takeover to be worried about to me.

When what I consider or think will be the defining takeovers in this country happened, Abramovic, City’s lot and ours arrived, no one knew about it until it was completed. We were talking about a US consortium who got chased from Swansea on the morning of ours completing.

This just stinks of a publicity stunt, a chancer, venture capitalists or maybe even Ashley indirectly retaining control. I’m not bothered in the slightest.

It's not that, for me.

Yes I am bothered by a disgustingly rich man/family/state taking control of them, but that's not the main point.

I am horrified that the Football Association could allow anybody even remotely related to the backwards stone age Saudi royal family anywhere near a club in the Premier League, or anywhere in the country for that matter. A man - the Crown Prince - who is proven to have been involved (gave orders) in the murder and dismemberment of an innocent journalist just doing his job, and who runs a country where executing homosexuals and beheading people for petty crimes is the norm, and that's not even mentioning their disgusting treatment of women, many of whom get raped and end up being blamed for it for showing too much (i.e. any) skin.

Football is dead once this becomes acceptable.

Yes all very true. I was thinking this the other day. If they were really serious, Saudi would have stayed well in the background. I have enjoyed Geordies continually undermining the money we've spent. They'd do very very well to have the level of investment we've had.

I remember Martin Samuel said a few weeks back, Ashley has pushed this forward, mainly because he's sick of people saying he's the obstacle and through doing this he calls their bluff. He has never seen any money, or any evidence they have money. Thats the dilemma here. Geordies seem to blame him, but if there's no evidence of funds he isn't going to take it seriously. They've got what they wanted now though, we are now getting into week 5 and we will soon see if the money jis there for the initial purchase, never mind the hundreds of millions that is required on transfers.

Just a matter of time. The FA wouldn't dare get in the way of a country where there are billions of Pounds to be had for football rights, investments, broadcasting of the Premier League. They will be going through the motions now acting as if they are scrutinising the deal before pushing it through and rubber stamping it.

So if the fa stop a relative from the Saudi royal family from buying a premier leauge club, all of a sudden what? They'll ban the premier in Saudi?

It's true there's lots of money to he made in football in Saudi but the same can be said for them having the product to sell and make money themselves.

If the f.a knock this takeover back there will he sweet fa that will come of it. Sure there'll be a load of Initial huffing and puffing but then after a while it'll die down and this will just be another failed takeover bid.

People seem to think this going wrong will lead to world war 3 or something.

Saudi Arabia are only as rich as USA, UK, etc allow them to be.
