Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Jesus what time is it? Sorry guys, got steaming on the #cans last night and #shitthebed. Back on form now though. Here we go!
My main man Nedders is getting himself all worked up today and NO wonder! He argues that the premier league has not once intervened in the runnings of Newcastle in the last 13 years. Evil Mike Ashley (fireplace spewing legend) has treated the fans so badly by Committing such heinous crimes like not buying players and recruiting managers that they wanted. (Except for Keegan mark 2 who turned out to be an utter fraud) Not only that, they are now blocking the most important decision in the history of the north east of England!!

lol lol lol lol Four laughing emojis for you Nedders you Mad hyperbolic Skid mark. I really like the portrayal of yourselves as victims and massive Sense of Self-importance in this post. I’m sure all over the north east, people are refusing food parcels and government intervention whilst they await the most important decision in their lifetimes. Incredible stuff.

I want to laugh but then you mention the very real fact, that people in this country require food parcels and the like to just survive this whole pandemic and that's really just absolutely awful.

Especially when those parcels contain #nocans!

I apologise to all those struggling - I just couldn't help myself.

A big article in the athletic this morning how fat mikes frugality over the years has created a decent profit and will would allow £150 million of spending and possibly no breach of ffp if new owners get the green light ,we get a mention about our £115 million loss not helping us .

When your Liverpools/Uniteds make 200+m losses this year you know FFP gets overhauled.

As for Newcastle, they will actually need an owner that wants to spend to be able to do this. What's increasingly clear is it wont be this lot. I see Bruce still hasnt been sacked and Poch still not appointed.

Just shows how they no nothing.

Our losses are £95 million but you can take £30 million off that due to the USM deal and also the upcoming year account will also show transfer FFP profits of around £10 million, increased FF naming rights deal of a further £6 million and also our new kit deal has doubled / will also be announcing an increased shirt sponsership at some point this summer.

FFP speaking we are alright.

I didn't think the naming rights affected FFP because it was infrastructure related or some such - I may well be wrong though, I often am. Also I think @catcherintherye 's comment about FFP being overhauled is a very likely scenario if it hits the usual suspects at the top of the money tree. Either way though, I think we will have wriggle room in our spending to get the right players in for the right money. If FFP and more money is present due to the naming rights, etc. then I suspect we'll see a few decent incoming transfers.

As for Newcastle, £115million 'allowed' for spending?!? Mike Ashley is an absolutely brilliant businessman if that's the case. When other teams are up against the wall, he's got one that is still in the black. As much as it pains me to admit it, but that's the foundations for long term stability and growth even if it's not so dramatic or exciting if you are a fan. Their stadium and training ground may need updating, and their players are at best unispirational, but if the balance book is positive, eventually it'll start working out. If I was a Saudi investment fund manager, I'd want that kind of business acumen tied into the deal!

Anyway, the day is nice and the sun is out, Shearer wants Mbappe to sign up and Pochettino drops a hint about his future club having to win a trophy. Perhaps Shearer's baldy head has had too much sun and Poch is back off to Spurs? Or maybe today is the day for #cans!

The £30 million USM deal is classified as revenue therefore it is included for FFP purposes mate. The club said that money would be "ringfenced" for the stadium rather than spent on transfers etc but it will still be counted as income as the club are choosing to spend it on the stadium and not transfers / wages etc.
