Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Sounds like a fun interview. Sad I missed it

I reckon that dneill guy on YouTube will upload it

It will be on some Pod cast or listen again some time soon. Circa 11.00 am, or an hour into the show, is where it will be.

You could almost see Jordan wanting to rip the tit to bits, but either time, or editorial constraints, stopped him. He did call him out near the end mind, and said that the Jawdees would be all over the Saudis if they had tried to buy Sunderland.

I see they’ve been spamming the PL main sponsors Trust pilot review pages with fake 1 star reviews whilst simultaneously crying about corruption.

They’re going to end up the most hated club in the league if they keep this level of idiocy up.
I thought it would take some doing but they will overtake the rs before the nee season at the rate they're going.

What did they say? I missed the interview?

Our media are an absolute disgrace on the issue of Saudi and Sunni extremism. They seem to dedicate about 90% of their attention to Hezzbollah compared to about 10% to Sunni extremism. Anyone would think it is Iran/Hezbollah who are conducting missions around the world and Europe to slaughter people the way they go on (not that they are essentially fighting a defensive campaign against needless Sunni aggression).
Basically Wraith tried to suggest that the Saudis position was somehow a negotiating stance and that the criticism of their regime was hypocritical because they wanted to change and we shouldn’t hold the past against them as we had a slave trade..........

Jordan cited that Ashley and the Saudis could have taken the PL to court on the basis of a restriction of trade due to the extensive delay. He therefore didn’t understand why they had not done so, and had remained silent with the Saudis ultimately choosing to walk away. Of course this went down well with tin foil hat Wraith and his band of followers.

Has he? Quite enjoy his contributions usually. He at least has some idea how to buy and sell a football club.
Mmm. He brought Palace out of administration. Spent £30m of his own money alienating everyone he ever spoke to or did business with, told the fans he had bought back Selhurst Park when he hadn’t and took the club back into administration.
I presume you were being ironic.

Always sounded like a goober to me
Serial Arthur Daley type entrepreneur. Got lucky with one deal in mobile phones just as they were becoming big. Felt it made him a Captain of industry and expert on everything.
He knew exactly where everything was going wrong. Sadly he couldn’t find any way of putting any of it right. Talkshyte is the perfect place for him.

That Steve Wraith interview on Talk Sport is bizarre

He says we haven't heard anything from the buyers confirming it's definitely off, but they released a press release confirming they were pulling out didn't they?
The deluded Teds have convinced themselves that the Saudis haven’t formally withdrawn their bid and it still sits with the PL to pass or fail.

This obvs conveniently ignores the fact that their partners and Ashley have commented on the actual withdrawal, oh and the PM like, but it’s all just a clever piece of trickery though apparently.

They have to stick to this narrative, otherwise they’ll have to face the fact that the Saudis have legged it and all of their shouts of corruption and crying will be for nothing, as there’s currently no willing buyer.

Well I havnt a dog in that fight, so know squat about it. But amongst the usual presenters and talking heads on TS, to my knowledge, he is the only one who has bought a football club.

I'm seriously starting to feel like they're trying to gaslight us at this stage

Well, yes. But really he is on because he is likely to say something controversial. It is surprising how many non Palace fans think he is some authority on the game.

I've seen that suggested a lot.

I have to say, in my experience of business, I've never known a buyer to pull out of a deal, citing economic factors and lack of return on investment as a negotiating position to put pressure on a regulator.

If you really wanted to put pressure on the regulator you dont walk away, and publicly say you need a decision by x date.

What they are doing is the reaction of a group that realise the money they had hoped to pull out of the company wasnt going to be there, so the interest dies down.

Wraith has lied throughout this whole thing, so I doubt he stops now.
