I mean if the answer you take from Britain's appalling history (specifically in relation to the slave trade) is that you shouldn't condemn other oppressive practices, you've kind of missed the point really.
Britain's continued arming of Saudi Arabia,the indirect(and at times direct) funding of Sunni militia's is very much the moral degeneracy of the slave trade was 300 years ago. They are slaughtering children in Yemen. It's a monument of national shame for ourselves.
Steve wraith and his ilk are the same as people saying "Colston and slavery is ok if they build some nice schools in Bristol". It's disgusting. It's also about time journalists started treating these ghoulish monsters with the contempt they deserve.

What did they say? I missed the interview?
Our media are an absolute disgrace on the issue of Saudi and Sunni extremism. They seem to dedicate about 90% of their attention to Hezzbollah compared to about 10% to Sunni extremism. Anyone would think it is Iran/Hezbollah who are conducting missions around the world and Europe to slaughter people the way they go on (not that they are essentially fighting a defensive campaign against needless Sunni aggression).
