Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

The problem is you've spent around £83 million and the team is still light years away from the top 6 never mind top 4.

Thats when the reality soon dawns on the Newcastle fans expecting a title push in the next few years of the farce that FFP is as you simply cant afford the players that really push you up there (not just the fees but the wages).

Nobody in their right mind is giving a moment's thought to the title, top 4, top 6, even top 16. The problem is we've spent £83million and still might not be good enough to stay up, is what you should have said, and I would have agreed.

Lofty aspirations are a world away and any Newcastle fan thinking that the title is on the horizon wants their head checking. Thankfully I think those people are few and far between, but then again I'm not on the oh-so-reliable cross-section of humanity that is Twitter, so I could be wrong.

We need to stay up first and foremost and the business conducted this window increases the possibility of that happening, though I don't feel great about Watford appointing a bona fide survival specialist.

Just wondering how much net your club can spend under ffp after the taking over?

I've no idea, truthfully, have heard various things. Supposedly Ashley's frugality has enabled us to spend significantly straight away.

Of course, an embarrassment of riches does not guarantee progress, let alone challenging for honours, as yous have demonstrated! (not a dig)

They have red shyteesque delusions this lot. Yeah a player like De Bruyne gonna go to Newcastle hahahahaha
Reminds me of that famous quote “so what was it that attracted you to the 74 year old ugly fat billionaire”
So famous I forget the quote
Same reason Richarlison is with us!

The earlyish arrivals of Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood have been very much welcomed by Newcastle fans. Trippier in particular is already being spoken of as a future captain.

The Bruno Guimarães deal is done and from 48 hours ago barely knowing of him I am now convinced we’ve signed the equivalent of Patrick Vieira 2003”

Hahahahahahhahahaha

So Kevin de Bruyne esque in the mould of Patrick Vieira

Jesus this is comical stuff.

Next they will be saying Matt Targett is Paulo Maldini in disguise

Think they’re going about this rebuilding sensibility and not panicking. They are no strangers to relegation and it might be better for them to have a decent team in the championship and by the time they get promoted have a very good side.

“Michael Smith: Very happy with NUFC this morning, the clips of Bruno show we have a talent coming and a strong leader too, Trippier was the starting point and if the Hugo Ekitike rumours are true then we are going to be a different side next week”

This is Gold.
Gotta hand it to Newcastle fans. They cant help thenselves.
Looking forward to watching them blubbing when they are relegated for the 18th time in my lifetime and Im only 12.
Wonder how Kevin DeBruyne esque new Patrick Vieira will do in the Championship

I hope they go down. I don’t think they will. Everton need to get their act together and I think we will personally. My prediction for the bottom 3 would be

Burnley. Just can’t see them getting enough wins to get themself out of trouble.

Norwich. I no they have put a few wins together. I rate Dean smith as a manager but they are still the worst team in the league player quality wise.

Watford. I just don’t think Roy will save them. Probably end up sacking him before the end of the season.
