Oh big time, the scum that have been allowed to buy them is disgusting, won't see me disagree there, but I will say we've basically been propped up for a number of years by Putin-enabled money so it's hard to be morally smug about it all (not saying you are personally).I think champs league is a tipping point and they will kick on now, horrible to see but its a golden ticket with their backing.
The criticisms of their ownership and the corruption on a UK government level that allowed them in are absolutely legitimate in my opinion. As much as I can't stand the team the few newcastle fans who still speak out against the owners are heroes in my eyes. Football fans, including us are a sychopantic bunch if you put a potential trophy in front of us.
Whatever these lads are taking is better than that Klopp juice.
Been posting losses since 2019/20 prior to Ashley leaving. And that year was a near £70m swing from a profit to loss.
I don’t think they get a 3 year refresh. They have to still work off their rolling 3 year cycle which included big losses this year. They also have to get their wages down as it is stricter when playing in Europe except their new players are coming in on much higher wages than previously.
I fully expect inflated sponsorship deals, but there will have to be an element of them proving it is fair market value and the history of sponsorship deals would show that having one good season doesn’t jump up the cash to the levels of the scab 6. See us, see Leicester etc.
We also spent a hell of a lot of money on signings, with excessive contracts, who ended up being pretty unsellable or offered little to no resale value. It's not just about transfer fees .
Our wages to turnover ratio has been the highest in the premier league for years now.
In fairness apart from Kev I haven't seen many defending putins war in the same way geordies are defending the Saudi regime en masse.Oh big time, the scum that have been allowed to buy them is disgusting, won't see me disagree there, but I will say we've basically been propped up for a number of years by Putin-enabled money so it's hard to be morally smug about it all (not saying you are personally).
He who could not be mentioned aswellWe also spent a hell of a lot of money on signings, with excessive contracts, who ended up being pretty unsellable or offered little to no resale value.
You only need to look at the likes of Klaassen, Tosun, Walcott, Williams, Ramirez, Rooney, Mina (eventually), Bolasie, Bernard, Gomes and Gbamin.
That's before talking about Delph and others. All that money spunked up the wall on lots of questionable players (being nice) and very little return, if any.
Aye, another. He who could not be mentioned aswell
They're a horrible fanbase let's be honest. I don't wish them any joy because they're whoppers, not because of the money. Keegans team in the mid 90s were fun to watch though. In fairness apart from Kev I haven't seen many defending putins war in the same way geordies are defending the Saudi regime en masse.
I don't actually begrudge them enjoying the success, we can't control who buys a club as fans and I don't think fans should lose match days etc because of that, you can still cheers your team on without becoming an advocate for human rights infringements.
That being said if Saudi money came in for us I'm sure the geordie fan base crimes would be mirrored here, but we'd and open to legitimate critique
Maybe they are just decent footballers in a rich vein of form and playing well as a unit.
Yes sorry, Josh Murphy at 28 has organically turned into prime Eden Hazard. My bad.
They'll be able to renovate and expand St James' Park, probably with financing coming straight from the owners; they'll get lucrative deals, as you said.@Marius57 Had a look at recent years of the Newcastle financial reports and compared to ours they have nothing to worry about.
During the Covid seasons they posted losses of 26 and 14 million compared to us we lost over 100 million per season.
At this moment in time they have no issues to investigate.

Newcastle won't be able to do a City and spunk billions, but in the long-term they will become a force through the financial clout their owners will arrange.
