Very likely, their soccer league is falling apart, they can’t spend big, they’re focusing on boxing and intentional football tournaments and also other sports in Saudi.
Adidas thought they got the big time from a PR and marketing point of view but it’s horribly backfired due to this season.
If they got champions league again they’d have a fighting chance, but having the cowardly lion who ruined her business reputation on this and an intentionally detested chairman doesn’t look promising.
Also they can’t expand or do anything else with the outdated 90’s stadium, due to listed buildings and a park surrounded by it. Only option they had was to expand on strawberry plaza or whatever it was, which has a main metro station. All they got was permission for a tiny version of a box park which they all seemed to seel clap too.
Sad to see. I wish I the Geordies well as they’re a nice working class bunch but as far as football goes. Oh well.
