Newcastle Watch

Along with the turmoil off the field, the simple issue on the field is that they simply can't defend. The manager goes out and buys forwards, and I think that Big Sam would have been the only one to have cottoned onto the fact that you build your team from your defence.

Even Shearer, he plays 3 forwards up front, and his team let in school boy goals. The dye is cast, and I hope that they go down.

Football's most deluded supporters, come on Middlesborough.

Like I said, most of us are not deluded. We just want to see Newcastle win the Carling Cup. One day.

I was against Keegan being brought back last year. I wanted Deschamps. I always wanted Newcastle to bite the bullet and get a quality foreign coach who could get the team playing technically good football and who could attract decent players to the club.

But there is something very wrong at St James' Park, that is for sure. If we go down, and it looks likely, I think we need a manager who has brought a team up from the Championship before. Someone with experience at both levels.

Big Sam wasn't doing bad at the time. I think NUFC was 11th-12th when he was axed. Just think of the stupidity of appointing Sheraer, you are threatened with relegation and your clubs financial survival (for the next 10 years at least) depend on you staying up. So what do you do pay 100K/week for a manager who NEVER MANAGED A CLUB BEFORE. Christ I m not sure SAF makes that much.

Why Foreign? everyone's into the latest sexy foreign imports because they see it as a shortcut to sexy, successful football - continental-style. It's exactly this type of attitude that has got you where you are - not prepared to lay down the proper foundations for success, just trying to copy a formula.

Even you saying there is something wrong makes me think you're also a tad deluded about the club. The fact is, Newcastle has never been a successful club. So you being 3 points away from safety isn't actually that surprising. It's just par for the course for a club of Newcastle's stature. You're a big club, a well-supported club, but an unsuccessful one. You're the type of club that looks at home in either the championship or the premier league.

My personal opinion, if you still had Big Sam there you'd be safe in mid-table and perhaps pushing for that 7th spot. No it's not great football to watch, but you haven't played any better football since he left.

Agreed, mate. Fat Sam would have turned the club into a machine, not a pretty one, but a successful one. The biggest mistake Ashley has made was thinking a chairman could put on a football top on sit with the fans. The fans indoctrinated Ashley into believing it was all about passion and the will to succeed. It isn't.

The fans are to blame for Newcastle's predicament.

An absolutely ******* wonderful day, the jawdeez are gannin down, i'm gaggin' for next sunday, c'mon Villa !

What I would LOVE to happen is the Geordies to beat Villa, but Hull to get a last minute winner against United, in the 4th minute of extra time. The Geordies would have finished their match 10 minutes earlier (delayed kick off for Hull v United), so will be celebrating only to see it all end in tears. Obviously Sunderland are already safe at that point too.

That would be the preferable scenario, as it would guarantee 5th for us (y)

I want Newcastle to go down, but I'd rather we got 5th!

I heard a quote from Noel Gallagher the other day he said. "no better sight on Match Of The Day than fat geordies crying" Quality stuff, and so true

Wonderful, just wonderful. A result made even better by the fact that it was Nolan impeding on Schwartzer that got Viduka's 'equaliser' chalked off. They have to be favourites to go down now.

It's going to be sweet to not have to put up with the media saturation of their every move. The first SKY Sports creature crashing out. Lovely stuff. (y)

You're evil mate.:o
