News of Ex Players

It’s not at all.

The wording - “ Didn’t reach the CPS threshold “ is the completely standard response, that the CPS use, when there isn’t enough evidence, for whatever reason, to bring a REALISTIC chance of a SUCCESSFUL prosecution.

There is no hidden meaning, no ambiguity with this, it’s completely normal and this phrase will be used by the CPS to discontinue multiple cases, every day of the week, up and down the land.

Some of the stuff on here today is just nuts, it really is like the Salem Witch Trials.
You're absolutely correct and I really don't get why people play detective with stuff as serious as this.

No one outside the investigation literally knows ANYTHING at all relevant to this case.

14.2 mill wages and Amortisation or impairment on a potential fee. I think that’s logical and acceptable. We can point to getting 10 mill for Jamo and 8 for Bernard.

Prize money and cost of replacing - will be a hard sell - 3/4 mill prize money, 2.5 mill for Dele, 5 mill for VDB.

Just south of 25 mill - would be my take, don’t think we would get paragraph, but be arguing it anyway, it’s all leverage to mitigate scope of any potential punishment.
More than that surely mate? Just for one season drop from 10th in Carlo's last season to 16th last season that was an £11M drop off on proze money...then you also have to add in tv appearances or "facilities payments"...which would mean the same loss again. We were on tv less last season and the difference between 10th and 16th was £10M tv payment.

I think you might be as well.

And of course you can be neither Innocent or Guilty. You can commit a crime and be found to be Not Guilty.

Which is the main point here.

Innocence is a state of having not done something. Guilty or Not Guilty are pleas/outcomes to a case, regardless of Innocence.

You are conflating Innocent and Not Guilty.

All @Connor was saying, and rightly so, is that just because a case was dropped, does not mean a crime wasn't committed.

The only moral statement made by either of us is made by you, claiming his innocence in the absence of proof either way.

All we know is there was an allegation, and not enough evidence to move on with an expensive case.

He is free all the same.

Im just glad he doesnt play for us any more.
This would all make sense if he was charged and found not guilty
but he wasn't charged, there fore he's legally innocent.
Thats not a moral opinion, it's a fact.

So he's supposed to prove a negative? That's pretty much impossible.

An accusation isn't a conviction.

But I wouldn't be innocent would I, because I did steal the sweets. I just wouldn't have been found innocent or guilty by a court. As I put in an earlier post he is innocent until proven guilty as our law dictates, but backing up Connor's point of just because he hasn't been charged it doesnt mean nothing has happened. Or equally, it doesnt prove something happened either.
eeh, I'm getting a bit confused with the analogy.
If you think he might be guilty, that's a moral opinion.
The law says he's innocent.
Unfortunately he'll have to spend the rest of his life dealing with people drawing conclusions based off stuff they read online or heard from a mate.

I thought he was paid until his contract ran out- sometime last year. No new contract, no pay.
My understanding too, but I reckon the club could have released him due to 'brand damage' and or breach of (terms of) contract.
Anyway, there's an issue of 'culture' within football now, far too many are embroiled in 'sexual allegations' of one sort or another

We've certainly performed much worse without him - a midfielder who scores 7+ goals a season would have been helpful.

What on earth are you talking about Salem witch hunt. Are you alright mate

No one has said he's guilty or not I'm just telling you the facts.... unfortunately they don't care about feelings . No one will be getting any compensation.
the only facts anyone knows for 100% certain is that Everton suspended a senior squad member pending the results of a police investigation.
The police have completed their investigation and have not charged that player.
That's all we know for sure.

I don’t think we got £10m for James or £8m for Bernard. Transfermarkt has them at €8m and €1m respectively for example.

We made £10m less total than the team that finished in 10th (Wolves). Prize money includes the facility fees. Our facility fees last season were the 8th highest, presumably due to the threat of relegation meaning we were on more towards the end of the season.

11. Wolves

Actual league position: 10th
Equal share: £79m
Facility fees: £15m
Merit payment: £29.2m
Commercial revenue: £5.6m
Total: £128.8m

15. Everton

Actual league position: 16th
Equal share: £79m
Facility fees: £20.7m
Merit payment: £13.3m
Commercial revenue: £5.6m
Total: £118.6m

Can I ask in all interest where have you have seen or heard these facts you refer to?
I am asking because I have not seen or heard them reported as such in any credible or legitimate news source.
Genuine interest as it may be my omission.
Also it occurs to me that if he indeed admitted to having sex with a minor then a definite offence has been committed and it is very surprising that he has not been charged?
If he'd admitted that, he would 100% have been charged. It isn't an offence where the excuse, "I didn't realise" gets you off; it's statutory rape. So while nobody knows for sure, it is not an unreasonable deduction to conclude that he almost certainly did not admit to this.
