Wouldn't surprise me if the plan is to give it to him permanently.


He's the safest option, and by a considerable margin too.

But thay doesn't mean he's not a brilliant option. The fella is hugely respected in the game, knows St. George's Park, would be perfect for bringing some of the younger talent through as he'll be familiar with them (just like Southgate) from his time in u21s.

People always want the big name, but when it comes to International Football, was Southgate, Löw, De la Fuentes, Scaloni ever the big name?
