I think we’ll play decent football with him once we dig a few results out early doors and get a striker in.

My problem with him is that he is a horrible crook and is so desperate for a backhander that he ruined his dream job after just one game. We don’t need that here IMO.
His Bolton side played some good stuff at times with Okocha. He isn't afraid to give good players the opportunity to express themselves but added to that he has his sides organised which we haven't been all season.

He isn't my first choice but given how long it has been and that we have no other options then I guess we have to get behind him.

I’m just trying to wrap my head around the idea that Sam Allardyce is going to be the manager of the club I support.

I genuinely only ever associated him with small, nothing clubs.
It's future generations I feel sorry for. Imagine them looking back in the history books and seeing his name under past managers.
I hope they can forgive....

Honestly I have to say that he has a slightly unfair reputation when it comes to his style of football. I’ve seen his teams play decent football before, especially Bolton, and just last season he took Palace to Anfield and comfortably won the game. He plays direct, effective football, not the most attractive but it’s by no means Tony Pulis levels. His problem is he obviously has a limit but given how our season is shaping out that limit will do just fine.

Yes he’s an unscrupulous man but can the people who are against this appointment purely on morals justify that we may get relegated? I see people saying they’d still prefer Unsworth which is just insanity. If you don’t want Allardyce for purely footballing reasons then that’s understandable. But this holier than thou attitude amongst our fan base has to go right now. We’re in a fight and you don’t bring a wooden spoon to a knife fight. And sometimes you have to play dirty.
