My choice would be Fonseca he's young and probably got some new ideas, I know he does not have prem experience but nor did a few new managers this season. I love what Wenger has done over many years but I believe his time has gone.

BetVictor currently have Arteta, Silva & Dyche all at 4/1. Fonseca is 10/1 and Wenger is 16/1.

Means nothing, obviously, just observations.

My realistic wishlist:

Dream appointment - Wenger: depsite how its ended at Arsenal he's a fantastic manager who would give us as good a chance as ever of winning a trophy. Would also have us playing some very good football.

Happy apointment - Fonesca: young and done a good job at Shakhtar, would be a risky appointment but one that could pay off dividends if he brings some of his players with him and has us playing good football whilst not throwing away how to defend.

Content appointment - Silva: obviously Moshiri was a fan but who knows how he feels now after his poor end at Watford. I would be happier than what I am now but I do think he has the touch of Martinez about him in terms of his good attack play soured by poor defensive displays.

Gutted appointments - Unsworth/Arteta/Kenwright/Howe/Dyche

With you for the most part, but what exactly has Silva done to make him a more credible manager than Eddie Howe? Howe's not perfect by any means, but the job he's done at Bournemouth is unbelievable.

Not a pop at you obviously, just genuinely don't understand the praise Silva gets and Howe does not.

Why do people want Wenger?!

He's won very little of significance for about 10 years given the fact he has managed a big club. I can't see him working wonders with our squad if he can't get the likes of Sanchez and co. to do anything.

I'd rather not bring him in, though at this stage anyone is better than Sam.

Wenger might well make a good adviser to a director of football for a couple of years as they settle into the English game if they are from abroad - even if it's a fairly superficial or ambassadorial role. At Everton that might work - at Arsenal probably not so much as he might be seen as interfering too much.

Though I don't see him leaving to another club when he isn't Arsenal manager.

I always thought my dream manager would have been Simeone, but I am now of the thinking that I want a progressive attacking manager who is also organised, and that we need to be recruiting from that type, and I think that Fonseca is ideally located within that outline plus he is obtainable. Arteta having been under Guardiola and Wenger could well fit into this category too. Silva also, but this would be my third choice.

If I was hoping to go along the lines of the Simeone pragmatic, I'd be tempted to go for Mancini as he would probably leave that route open after him if it all went to plan. Who else is around in this category? Dyche? I'm not overly taken with this idea after suffering Big Scam.

I honestly hope that our decision makers know what they want to do. I hope that they have a clear idea, and a long term vision and are going to put the structure in place that whoever comes in, can succeed. This doesn't seem to be the case for some years now.

New poll please!

He's won a number of domestic pots in that time like.

Arsene Wenger as manager.
Mikel Arteta as assistant manager.
David Unsworth as first-team coach.

Allardyce managing under 10s until his contract expires.
Shakespeare answering the phones until his contract expires.
Walsh cleaning the toilets until his contract expires.
