I’d say it would be a shift in style for us away from picking up tired, not stellar managers. I’ve just finished reading Das Reboot which probably explains my enthusiasm for such a change!

Artetas well respected as a coach and has the coaching X factor it seems (Again, going off Pochettinos book) if he wants to have a say in transfers then it would be a case of working with Brands, rather than players being hoisted on him.

I see your point and any coach who comes here will have players in mind but the final say has to be the DOF, it leads to chaos and look what happen last summer when everyone it seemed wanted to buy players they wanted 'square pegs round holes' comes to mind and ended up not buying players for certain positions and will suffered for it, this can't happen ever again

I can understand the shouts for Howe to some extent but......

On the one time he ventured outside of his Bournemouth comfort zone it was a disaster and also he has no European or trophy winning experience, something where Silva has the clear advantage.
Howe is bournemouths Moyes
Lots of pluck bournemouth graft
Lots of plausible excuses
No end results

He had a similar one for Koeman as well. Not convinced. The sooner we put the decision solely into the hands of a DOF the better.

The new Director of Football would not have accepted the job if he didn’t agree on the manager the Board are keen on bringing in. It’s not rocket science. Brands is very, very clearly supportive of whomever comes in.

Yes, very true. Its not like Brands needed this job, he was well entrenched in a very cozy and very successful situation.
