It probably doesn't matter who we may or may not appoint as manager, we're done as a top club. When I first started going the match we were the 'Mersey Millionaires' envied and resented by many. Now we are 'plucky Everton' patronised and pitied by all.
For too long we have been owned by people who lack the will, determination or finances to maintain, build on or re-establish our position at the top table. Chelsea and Man City have shown what it takes and we lack it. I fear our day is done.
Go for Sean Dyche or Unsworth , both could probably 'do a job' and maintain our mid table status which is all our owners seem to want, for all their fine words and bombast.

Our day was done the moment Man City got the Etihad takeover.

We had assembled the best team outside the then 'top 4' and where on course for a cup final. That is as near as we got to being our old selves. Then Lescott spat his dummy out, Moyes lost his fire and we allowed another team to pass not just us but Arsenal and the RS.

Had we got the Kings Dock and had owners with a bit of boldness about them that could have been Everton instead.

Meanwhile we have an owner who goes on the cringefest transfer deadline show instead.

Usmanov or bust now.

I don't think we need a manager.
A better plan would be GOT to vote on tactics and line ups in polls created by @tommye or @AndyC.

All polls would be public, so, if we lost, we would then ( literally ) crucify the posters who voted for the tactics and personnel.
As well as making the game for interactive for the fans, it'd save six million or so a year, which we could share amongst ourselves in match day beers.

I'll pm @tommye about this but I half expect him to tell me to 'koff

The other reason will sound daft. I think he would give us some pride back in the short term and would install more fight into the side, however I also think it may set us back years as we are trying to be a proper contender yet have gone for a small time appointment.

Forgive me for this because Unsworth isn't a tit, but it would remind me of when Spurs got Sherwood.
