what on earth is wrong with you people? Seriously, look at yourselves in the mirror, this is pure lunacy. We're in a bad patch, 3/4rs of the league goes through a bad patch of 10 games or so, ours has just happened at the start of the season. Yes it's been a mess but even two solitary wins takes us near mid-table, this is hideous knee-jerking. Calls for allardyce and worries about relegation, deary me. Give your heads a wobble because you're making our club look like a joke just as much as the media are.

This ^

If yesterday was part of his interview, he failed to win over the selection committee.

Poor tactics and initial line up against a side who play kick and rush football.

Second half we controlled the game but had zero width because he's take both wide players off. Mystifying really.

I wanted him to succeed and make the job his won, but so far he's failing to convince.

The Fat Sam shouts are a shocker though ffs.

I had the SAM discussion last night.

Gave up after being fronted with the following as an alleged positive...

'...yeah, but he's an ex-England manager...'

Quite.

Pace down the wings and movement behind our DMs?

Lyon could put 4 past us.

People think I'm mucking about but this Everton side has absolutely nothing to recommend it. Virtually zero quality anywhere on the pitch, no pace, few players with any technical ability, no fight, no goals, no confidence.

We are in massive trouble - not just now, but for two more months at least unless something huge happens
Well it's a mess as it stands. I see what you see. But that's what good managers do: see a route forward and plot it and execute it using existing means.

I'd like to know whether a confidence boosting win can spark a revival of individual form. We all know that if confidence is low a player plays conservatively and a team looks disjointed.

The Lyon game in the grand scheme of things has now become a bit of a dead rubber.

Use it as an opportunity to maybe to give either Besic or Snides a run out at centre half.

Let's face it, they couldn't do any worse.

That's right. The problem is we have players in key positions - Jagielka , Davies, Gueye, Siggurdson , Baines, DCL , Williams - who hide when the first goal is conceded. Jagielka in particular just one touch leathers it as soon as we go behind.

People can slate Rooney all they like but he's fronting up, looking to get on the ball. If only others showed the same amout of will.

We need a huge amount of luck against Watford - Watford ffs, at home - if the revival is going to start. People are saying write off Lyon , which is one bad idea as that means we will have lost 10 of the last 14

When Koeman went 2 in 12 last season, or Martinez with his 1 in 13, at least there were some draws to keep the points ticking over. This run just includes lots and lots of losses. 3 wins all season inc Europe and league cup. 3 draws all season. Everything else we've lost. 3 wins, 3 draws, 9 losses

Yep.

Doubt Unsworth has the scope for that though. He'll be looking to try and get a result and well be beaten anyway.

The smart move would be to rest up a lot of the team you have in mind for Watford.

I feel sorry for him. He was handed three away games on the run that you wouldn't choose to start off with.

Pointed out in another thread, 5 of the 6 clubs Allardyce has managed have been relegated within 2 years of him leaving (including Palace as one of those though) 4 of them the season after he left.

Quick fix which breaks soon as he leaves due to the squad being so drilled in his methods it becomes incapable of re-adjusting once he leaves.
That's a pretty subjective interpretation. Allardyce is typically brought in as a firefighter to save a crisis team from relegation. He's never failed. If some of those teams are subsequently relegated soon after his departure surely a more reasonable interpretation is that the factor most influential in keeping those poor teams in the Premiership has been removed namely Allardyce?

We are short in almost all positions apart from the GK, yet we have the following players for 3 positions:

Morgan Schneiderlin
Idrissa Gueye
Gylfi Sigurdsson
Davy Klaassen
Muhamed Besic
Tom Davies
Kieran Dowell
Beni Baningime
James McCarthy
Ross Barkley
Wayne Rooney

Our summer transfer window was a disaster and whoever comes in will have a major rebuilding to do including a major clear-out

I see us beating Watford. I think Deeney will be banned for that. They aren't great and the crowd will be well up for it.

I remember being hounded around January last year for suggesting we had midfielders falling out of cupboards and stating we didn't need any more.
