Well I’m not sure he’d try and play a high line with jags & Williams , you’ve got to sit deep with them two surely ? I’m also not sure he’d have selected Lennon ahead of vlasic and Id hope he or anybody else might have made different substitutions.
And if he’d tried something different and it didn’t work?! Let’s face it, everything we’ve tried has failed this season.

An interesting thought process could be appoint Dyche now, if it works then great but if we are in the relegation zone in Jan, sack him and then bring in Allardyce.

So shell out compo to Burnley for Dyche, then in two months time shell out more money to sack him, then in the same month shell out more money to Crystal Palace for Allardyce.

Yeah, definitely interesting.....

Nail on the head. We're forced to sit deeper so we should be stopping the FB's over-reaching and think about having a solid back line with protection in front. Not pretty to watch but not difficult to execute.

In Jan look to solve some of the issues, LB/CB etc and it'll allow us more options.

Does anyone seem to think our search for a manager is taking up a similarity to our transfer dealings? Seems very scattergun and not much thought put into it.

If Bournemouth were sitting in 7th would it be all about Eddie Howe right now? If Paul Clement had won 2 more games with swansea would we be all over him?
It just feels like they have just gone, who's doing the best in hte prem right now that we can possibly get, lets go Dyche

Hull last term proved getting Marco Silva as a releivly unknown that doing your research pays off, as did southampton when they went and got Pochetino, who had been sacked by Espanyol before that.

This isnt me being anti british manager at all, as my preference would be to take our time think it out and give it unsworth until the summer then re-evaluate the position then.

This is spot on this, but its not just a British thing, in away we did that with Martinez, O he just won a cup lets have him, Koeman just got a team 7th and 6th lets have him, its silly

We don't really know anything about the methods employed used to hire a new manager but it seems at the moment at least, to be concentrated around Allardyce/Dyche.

I don't see any real hope of attracting Tuchel. If it was viable you would think that the club would be all over it and in this day and age its impossible to keep an approach secret.

The hiring process should be as scientific as the scouting models used to analyse players not that that doesn't have obvious flaws but with Bill, he'll go British and local as we know.

It would be fascinating to know what contingency and succession plans are/were in place, but even with the unfolding mess, the temptation to jettison any would be great. I doubt if Walsh has any input at all in the process other than to add a few old dressing room tales here and there.

I honestly don't blame them if they think we are in trouble - and factoring that into their decision though. I just think in that scenario Allardyce offers a lot more about him than Dyche and isn't going to be a long-term appointment.

The club will get the manager it deserves. Simple as that really, we are just the fans.

.
Bournemouth are advertising for coaches and scouts on their official website.
Some clubs take it less seriously than others it would appear.

The thing is, if Tuchel/Ancelotti/Mancini don't want the job what can we do? Unsy isn't experienced enough.

I would rather have Allardyce (can't believe I typed that) until the end of the season and then look to get a quality name in then, than get Dyche.

Good post. There has to be huge consideration given to the style of football the new man wants and it's compatability with the squad we have and who we have lined up for Jan. If we have a solid organisation then you'd like to think all this would be done as part of the sifting process but the way things are it sounds like an interview agenda.

All this about Bill and Mosh makes me wonder what Walsh is doing. Surely a bonafide DoF would be the top man in this search, or is it as rumoured that he's simply a glorified scout?

Either way we need to employ the structure and outlook you mention ASAP.
