We don't really know anything about the methods employed used to hire a new manager but it seems at the moment at least, to be concentrated around Allardyce/Dyche.
I don't see any real hope of attracting Tuchel. If it was viable you would think that the club would be all over it and in this day and age its impossible to keep an approach secret.
The hiring process should be as scientific as the scouting models used to analyse players not that that doesn't have obvious flaws but with Bill, he'll go British and local as we know.
It would be fascinating to know what contingency and succession plans are/were in place, but even with the unfolding mess, the temptation to jettison any would be great. I doubt if Walsh has any input at all in the process other than to add a few old dressing room tales here and there.
I honestly don't blame them if they think we are in trouble - and factoring that into their decision though. I just think in that scenario Allardyce offers a lot more about him than Dyche and isn't going to be a long-term appointment.
The club will get the manager it deserves. Simple as that really, we are just the fans.
