It's the doomsday scenario.

I cant see it happening, tbh. The men in charge really would have taken leave of their senses if they believe down that route lies our salvation.
It's a catch 22 situation though @davek. Our squad is poor and imbalanced. Do we go for a tried and tested manager at premiership level like allardyce? Or go for a talented yet unproven premiership manager in Tuchel? We cannot afford for this next appointment to be wrong or we could be staring the championship full in the face.

There's a grey area in between those two options though.

Silva: I mean, surely to goodness we can tear him away from that shower of half hearted Cockneys? If we cant, what good is having that divvy owner?

I'd also say that (although not ideal) Dyche is a better bet than Allardyce.

if you look at the win ratio for the 4 manager names that keep getting mentioned, the order is tuchel dyche moyes and lastly fat sam.

tuchel is in a league of his own compared to the other 3 , dyche is clearly a manager on the up, moyes is on the way down and fat sam is a jobbing manager who doesn't achieve much.

so tuchel or dyche it has to be.

Mate because allardyce is toxic and clubs go down right after he leaves and in a worse long term state than they where before he arrived

The worst bit of his demands for me, were the 10-15 members of his own staff he wanted to get jobs for.

I could kind of live with him wanting a big wage, wanting a bonus for keeping us up and even him wanting us for 3 years. I understand it must be frustrating to be seen as the guy who does the hard work to let another manager benefit from it. However demanding up to 15 members of your backroom team get pay days out of it as well is just a step too far for me. Any decent and moral person would look at the backroom team at Everton, fella's like Unsworth and Joe Royle and respect the role they've had in the game, and not make it conditional on them to have to leave for you go get your huge salary, your 3 year deal and your bonus. I think that says everything about the man.

Maybe he is and just maybe we aren’t as big as we think we are

We are as big as each of us believe we are mate. Have we been successful the last 25 years? No. Are we massive Still? Yes mate in my eyes and in my sons eyes and in so many ways we crap over 99.9% of clubs with tradition, things we Do, even on this very forum we have great debates and some fans on here post amazing things that leave me in awe every single day I'm on here.

I've said it a million times mate, Everton Football Club have shaped so many things in my life, standards and values, togetherness thorough tough times and to appreciate the good.

Sam Allardyce should not and does not deserve to he any part of that. Otherwise let's start going for Ian Holloway or Neil Warnock, that's the level we are discussing here, the type of manager we laugh at from a distance due to their novelty value.

You ijjy, or me, my mum ffs but I'm not having it mate that he is where we are at, our "as good as it gets" moment. No chance mate, not having it.

If Tuchel is free we offer whatever it takes, promise whatever is needed and start acting like a bloody big club off the field whilst the tossers on it make a show of us.

Allardyce and Everton, no chance ijjy I can't accept it mate I simply can't accept that

It’s mad that he’s even an option mate. But even madder that I can see some logic to it.

I would have Tuchel all day but haven’t seen anything credible linking him to us.

Perhaps tonight will cause Moshiri to break the bank for him but even then, as we have learned often enough, it isn’t as simple as “throwing” money at someone.

Shocking with the money we do seem to be offering that our shortlist is so limited.

I’m not convinced at all by Dyche if he gets the job it seems by default.

Allardyce is what he is. If there is someone better and willing to take us on, I’d love to know who that person is.

Silva hasn't stayed at a club longer than 1 season. Not won anything apart from a "boss home record" trophy. Litterally has nothing go for him IMO

Dyche seems like the middle ground appointment

Made up my mind tonight. Has to be Moyes for 3 reasons. 1: He knows the club inside out. 2: He Knows and has managed pickford, baines, jagielka, rooney, keane, mirallas, schneiderlin, coleman and barkley. Also knows unsworth and Ferguson. Whoever comes in has to work with what we have got and we don't have time for someone to learn about our players. 3: Has got the best out of a team which had no real strikers (Remember the run we went on with with Fellaini and Cahill up front?)

What a state to be in!

I like the look of silva. But judging by his comments last week, he didn't sound like a man who was desperate to join us (surprisingly really as I only think he's on a yearly rolling contract at Watford). Dyche on the other hand has done nothing to distance himself from the job. Somehow I think it will be Dyche we turn to.

He appears to squeeze something from nothing, which is what we require at the minute.

I dont know much about him, tbh. I just dont get the shouts for Allardyce.

I can't see it mate and honestly it winds me up and upsets me that that tools name is even getting mentioned. He's a money grabbing journeyman and it would take a 49-0 win at the scruffs next door for me to be at peace with him being in charge. I can't stomach the thought
