I just think of the candidates likely to join us Dyche suits us well for what we need right now. To get us back competing in the top 7 and pushing forward in the long term.

He'd build the club and that's actually what is needed.

The club needs ridding of the old guard now. We need a manager to oversee that.

Silva has a relegation on his CV. But look how he's come back with that.

Also, if you remember, Burnley spent close to all of the money they got from being promoted back in 13/14 on their training ground. So 14/15 was always going to be tough. Dyche was a big part of making sure they spent that money in an area they could sustainably grow from.

IIRC, they only just went down?

Look at how they bounced back. Won the Championship and came back up better prepared because of their previous smart spending. Used that experience to build a good squad with smart buys (for Burnley's level) and safely stayed up last term.

Improved once again in the summer with smart buys and are pushing them up.

My worry would be that Burnley is his ceiling, and I've said before that Silva has more potential, but for what we need right now I think Dyche is the man - and conversely could also be the one to take us forward as well.

Wasn't trying to be like argumentative or anything mate its just my opinion that he hasn't really done anything which makes him a standout candidate in my eyes. I just think he needs to do more with Burnley to be seen as a standout - again just my opinion. I seriously think he will do exactly what Moyes done after us and burn up, he has spent a while with Burnley getting to where he likes them - its comfortable for him there.

I am not really pushing for Silva either, however I would partially side with him because he has won trophies and the work he done at Estoril was nothing short of amazing.

My problem with the likes of Dyche, Allardyce et al is that their CV is literally nothing in comparison to managers abroad - yet because they have experience in the prem they are seen as better options, and it proper does my head in as I don't see why.

They are gatekeepers (not Dyche really), the only question really is as a club how bold do we want to be? Bold and appoint someone who could come in stabilise us and have a 5 year plan in mind on pushing the club forward (cos bellend Walsh hasn't got a plan) or a gatekeeper who could come in play dogshit footy and keep us in the league by the skin of our teeth then move out.

I dont buy one manager is less of a risk then another manager - they are all risks as we have seen with Martinez and Koeman, they had prem experience and have failed.

Any manager we appoint is a risk, and because of that we should be bolder and cast our net wider then the premier league experience column. My worry is with Bill still up there, we will never be bold.

I understand nerves are frayed but I’m just passing on the info, mate.

All this hand-wringing and demanding from fans that someone be appointed in the next week will not change the timing, which was agreed weeks ago. Hence the radio silence from all parties.

You know, I dont believe for a second what you're saying about Simeone...

However... the bit in bold is the only thing making me think things have been agreed with someone and we are waiting for a set time to announce it - its been scarily quiet and I dont understand why.

If thats the case, the board are playing a VERY dangerous game.

If this came off mate, I’d be chuffed.

Just couldn’t see us attracting someone like him myself, with the ballbags we’ve got playing for us, the board we have and the position we are in.

Be made up if I’m wrong obviously!

So who are you saying will be appointed? Sorry if I've missed it..
