i stated what dyche has going for him

now allardyce - he has that imposing personality that these players need, i reckon he might be quite amusing at times so might cheer the players up

Why pay him that?

See this is the problem, we're panicking after 10 games. There's ages to go. The season we finished fourth, I think we got 19 points after the 19 game mark. We won't get to that level but equally, it's not the doom that people are suggesting.

Appointing that crook essentially tells people 'we're panicking, we'll pay panic money in January for players he wants, and forget any decent football for the rest of the season'.

People go on on about the Bolton to Europe 'achievement' but he hadn't been appointed as a relegation 'fixer', so he was allowed to experiment with bringing in older players from abroad; he could do so because he massively loaded the contracts. This all happened over a decade ago. It happened in 2004-2005 in a league so weak, you could finish 4th with 61 points.

Anyone know who managed it that season?
We agree on most my friend but it has to be Sam for me.
The defence is in a horror-state and, even if we throw money at new CBs in January, they will need organising.
A deal to the end of the season with bilateral option of a further 12 months would be a good compromise.

And Allardyce will 100% guarantee that we will start scoring and start defending and start winning?
Right now we need to start keeping clean sheet as a minimum.Setting up teams to do that is his strength. As for scoring goals with the players we have? Hard pressed to think of anyone in the market place who could.

I don’t like the thought of Allardyce on bit but I’m struggling to see who these players will play for. They wouldn’t turn up for Martinez, they wouldn’t play for Koeman, they’re seemingly not performing for Unsworth, we’ve tried a hands off philosophy, authoritarian discipline, and ‘just go and enjoy it lads’. These clowns won’t respond to any of it. If Allardyce needs to tell them using 200 screens which position on the pitch to stand in to mark them all not be so utterly turd then I’m all for it.

Unsworth did just that for an hour last night and it worked. It's actually not that difficult, the skill is blending that with having an attacking threat.

True but to me that's screams another Koeman who thinks he's bigger than the club.

No doubt he's better than Koeman...but you have to admit he's an unknown quantity.

If it were after Martinez or we had more points on the board with a good team not clicking, there's leg room to make that appointment.

We're not in that position.

So your basically saying just lets survive and that's it for the nxt how long by going down the rd of a joke of a manager and all that it brings. I don't want to fall out with fellow fans and I know we all have our own opinion but I think a majority aren't even thinking long term and it's worrying. It's not just about now it's about yesterday tomorrow nxt week I want the best for this football club and If that's tuchel then just do it.

Think it was the other way round mate. We had a really good first 19 then only got about 20 points the second half of the season but everyone else was crap and couldn't catch us. I may be wrong though.

haha, that's what I've said mate! After the 19th game we got 19 points, we got all our points the first half of the season. General point is that you can see a season as two halves.

I believe that Moyes may not have been far off the Allardyce method as far as drilling the players relentlessly so maybe we will see an upturn in results.

Nah, I'm with @bluestevon on this. There has to be some standards and if we give in and appoint Allardyce we've just become A. N. Other club that doesn't really have an identity. The man is a crook and we're simply making him a richer crook.

It's not even speculative; he got caught in the sting that cost him the England job, he was heavily hinted at in the Panorama doc that he was up to no good, and even that video of Steve Kean drunk he is called a 'crook' directly.

We either have some standards, or we don't have any and we'll be hiring whatever the El-Hadji Djouf equivalent today is (a man who Allardyce signed twice).
