Im sure Gary Megson would take the job.

I only wanna talk about FACTS.

We had a shortlist of 4 people, widely reported.

Jose - Going to United
Koeman - Waiting for a better offer
Pellegrini - Forgot where he parked his car
Frank - Legs wide open waiting for the length.
And you're posting as though you're happy with that?

No need to panic. I'd be stunned if we arent in talks with a number of candidates and their representatives. According to the esk the martinez decesion was made weeks ago and we will have been goin about getting his replacement since. I'm glad it's been done quitely. Shows it'd been done right

Lads, its quite simple, theres currently only 1 manager who wants the job.

Frank De Boer wins by default.

Welcome to Everton Frank.

Not what @The Esk has said mate...

And I'm going to continue to believe that Jose's peoples have contacted our peoples because it makes the sun shine a little bit brighter in my day.

Whoever it is at the end of the day gets my full backing for two years, unless we're in with a shot of being relegated and then they can get to ...

Happy with what?

I want Cocu.

De Boer would be an acceptable choice, the fella is a talented boy, he will do good here.
What's your definition of 'good'?

I see him as a risk at a time when risks shouldn't be taken. He's never managed here, so I'd suggest that it'd be a risk to allow him to rebuild this squad, with NO expierence of the type of player/s it takes to compete and make no mistake a rebuilding job is on the cards.

I'm not saying he isn't a good manager, I am saying this is a huge risk if this guy is tasked with rebuilding Everton in what expect to be the most competitive season in recent years.

I think that's fair.

Frank De Boer is a winner.

Not necessarily the winner we'd al go for but he knows how to win (or come second a bit but I'd take a second).

I'd be fine with him.
So was McClaren. And AVB. Until they came to the premier league. I want someone who has a proven record in this league. My cautious side says get Koeman and hope that the step up in transfer kitty will result in CL for us. I don't want to be the team that De Boer cuts his teeth on. Feel like this could go Bobby on us.

Who isnt a risk?

If its a proven Premiership manager you want, Moyes is out of work and we just lost Brenda to Celtic.

Roy Keane would come without a 2nd thought.

Im sure we could get Eddie Howe, Pardew, Alex Neil, that bloke from Watford or Big Sam.

Take your pick mate.

This. Feel like this team needs a proven and steady pair of hands. That squad is so psychologically fragile that any sense of uncertainty or "learning on the job" (which will surely happen when you move into a new league and have to prepare a team to take on a whole set of teams you have never coached against before) will infect the whole team. I hate this about our squad btw. No true leadership on the pitch. But that's for a different thread. I'd go Koeman before De Boer.

De Boer favours a TRUE 4-3-3 and plays a pressing game.

Hes nothing like Martinez, he also understands the benefits of Defensive work and values set pieces.

He doesnt share a single trait with Martinez.

Just going off what people have quoted Ajax fans as saying.

If what you've said is true, then get him on board. I just want us to run around and look arsed pressing the opponent once more, whilst passing it forward quickly on occasion.

He was a pube away from getting the Spurs job, its rumoured he turned down the vermin about 4 years ago.

Embrace him, its happening.

He has touted himself for every premier league job that has been available for god knows how long.... i doubt either of those things ever happened, especially the liverpool job...
