That's just mean.Emery does not speak Russian
According to pretty respected journos in the Telegraph he can actually speak English at an ok level nowadays, strong rumours that he did actually start learning English a few years back as well, remember how everyone thought Pocchetino didn't speak English until it was revealed he did but wasnt comfortable doing itnerviews etc - same situation here
I remember his time at Moscow mate, he didn't fail - they just had crackpot owners who sacked him undeservingly
From your own perspective though mate, wouldn't you love to see him as manager of Everton, taking charge in a Derby and completely outclassing Klopp like he did the other night in front of the watching world?
People keep saying emery failed in Russia, yes he got sacked but he still had a 46 win percentage which isn't to badEmery failed in Russia in the past and gave a deep impression to him, he said the main reason is language and thus poor communication with players, therefore I don't think he will rush to Premier League until he improve his English, he will not take a risk again, he will stay at Sevilla one more year, he can learn English this year and has much more choices when his contract ended next year. He have a job, he can play CL next season, he is no need to go PL so rush.....
Moyes. No. Shouldn't even be on that list.
Pellegrini, Premier League experience and a title under his belt, but had all the resources to do so.
De Boer - Only had the one job to date at Ajax, won nothing in the last 2 yrs and fluffed the chance to win the title on the last day this season. Very rigid manager, not likely to change his formations or even deal with the media very well. Loves possession football...uh oh
Koeman - On the plus side he's got premier league experience and got the best out of a Southampton side that was ravaged by sales. He's also one of few to have managed all the top 3 sides in Holland. On the downside, he's not stayed very long in other jobs, short stints at Benfica, Valencia etc and he hasn't exactly been sounding keen to come here, yet...
Emery - Seems to be a more extreme or vocal version of Martinez. Plenty of heart and energy on the sidelines. Proven cup record. And as for the league finishes with Sevilla - coming fourth is the equivalent of winning the league - outside of Barca and Madrid (and Atleti recently), you're not winning that league. Was also relatively successful at Valencia. The spell in Russia the only blot on his copybook. But then that's not really a proper league is it? Niasse and McGeady are living proof of that.
My mind is still not made up on any of these. Granted its a slightly improved lot compared with those three years ago, although I still wanted Vitor Pereira to get the job back then - he's gone off radar since.
I am genuinely more concerned about finally securing this stadium issue. Next up would be getting rid of the players who don't want to be here. 60m plus for Rom as a starting point.
Either find my post in this thread r read the emery thread. His away form is usually decent, this season is the exception, not the regular.Surprised so many want Emery after Sevilla's league finish and terrible away record this season! Ok he has done amazing winning the Europa League 3 years on the bounce but I just have a bad feeling about him due to the above!
I want Frank de Boer over Koeman purely because Southampton were crap both times we played them this season!
Saying that though if it's not de Boer i would take Koeman!
It's been a while since I've seen any jarg ITKs use "watch this space". What gives?
