Why ? Sevilla is abut 2 1/2 hours away.

Better still they use skype, phones, faxes etc nowadays

Or as the prefered option Get your agent to sort it.
If you're interviewing someone for a job like this you want to do it face to face surely? Just seems like it would be a big rush, you've got to get back home from the cup final etc.

I get what the Esk is hinting at but if we're meant to be speaking to Emery then surely it's face to face and given the timescales he'd of had to have flown over here today which seems a bit too quick after last nights final.
Esk has said from the off that Koeman was the first choice (assuming Mourinho was not a possibility because of United) so I think his comments were quite clear really. Sounds to me that Koeman has opened the door, which given his contract negotiations that were supposedly happening a week ago, have patently amounted to nothing as yet, would make perfect sense.

He was clearly quoted wanting assurances from Soton about their ambition, with actions not words.

After the result last Wednesday ......we could Skype Dick (let's face it... if we get him....we will all be calling him that) and he could be lying in bed ...with a Pot noodle .... and You**** on his laptop in the background............ and he would get the job .... on the spot.

Just seen this story on ESPN which was only posted an hour ago, which backs up The Telegraph story but says club sources

Everton to meet with Sevilla's Unai Emery for coaching vacancy - sources
Unai Emery, whose team just lost to Barca in the Copa del Rey, is a front-runner for the Everton job.
Unai Emery will meet with Everton this week to discuss becoming their next manager, club sources have told ESPN FC, with the Spanish coach having emerged as the front-runner for the job.

Just off the back of winning the Europa League for a third successive time with Sevilla, the highly-rated 44-year-old is extremely keen to work in England.

Everton are also impressed with his work and there has already been contact between the two parties.

The Merseyside club sacked Roberto Martinez after finishing 12th in what was a second successive disappointing season, as the club seek to grow in a new era under new majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

i

Unai Emery's Sevilla had an off season in La Liga, but won the Europa League for a third campaign in a row.
Moshiri is willing to give Martinez's replacement considerable funds in the transfer market, with the hope that could prove persuasive in negotiations between Emery's representatives and the club's hierarchy.

Everton, however, still retain an interest in Frank De Boer, Manuel Pellegrini and top target Ronald Koeman, although they are aware that the Dutch coach could be difficult to prise from Southampton.

Emery's side finished their club campaign on Sunday on the short end of a 2-0 result to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey that saw Sevilla finish the match with nine men.
