Good lord I would windmill so hard you could use me as a propellor if we got Emery.

For perspective, every time he was mentioned in this thread prior to last week, it was laughed off as a total pipe dream - no chance.

Where did you get that idea?

The last bit i read on him was a quote like this "I'll stay at Sevilla as long as they want me".
In all seriousness I was just referring to my previous post regarding the apparent ITK from the other forum.

Pinch of salt etc but it sounds like we are at least talking to him. Which is interesting in itself.

Nah everything i have read from him - post EL cup final has been talking about how the team will try to push on etc, using 'they' rather than 'we' in his interviews, may just be a translation thing or could just be the way he always speaks, but he hasn't done anything close to talking about him being their next season - YET

Then again i want him here, so probably seeing something in nothing with the phrases and choice of words he has used lately

I read the quote this morning. No idea where it came from. But didn't sound that promising.

Koeman is a good manager but it would be an underwhelming appointment. I would say he's not much better than Moyes was for us performance and points tally wise. We would all fume if Moyes came back so Koemen is a bit 'meh' for me. But realistically what calibre of manager can we get really?

I can understand those who don't want Pellegrini

He's hardly known for good defending. At City he had some big attacking names and one of the best goalkeepers in the League to offset that. He wouldn't have that here

Like the man a lot, but I'm not sold on him as the next manager
Think he's not good enough, he took over a squad that was already worth nearly half a billion, spent hundreds of million since then, the only guy in the country who thinks Sterling is worth 50 million, barely scrambled into 4th place this season, defended for two games in a champions league semi final when Ronaldo was out at the Etihad and for all the money they've spent i don't think he's left City in a strong position.
I agree Pellegrini did not control his transfer budget at City, his experience , and record of winning trophies is up there, I would not rule him out, If he had a blues young number 2 to learn alongside him for the future not as daft as it sounds IMO!
