I don't get why people say they don't fancy De Boer or Emery because they have no PL experience....

okay let's see some candidates who have that experience...

Louis van Gaal
Quique Flores
Steve McClaren
Remi Garde
Garry Monk
Chris Ramsey
Tim Sherwood
John Carver
Nigel Pearson
Paul Lambert
Harry Redknapp
Nigel Adkins
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Felix Magath
Pete Mel
Michael Laudrup
Malky Mackkay
AVB
Steve Clarke
Martin Jol
David Moyes
Martin O'Neill
Brian McDermott
Owen Coyle
Roberto Di Matteo
Avram Grant

Take your pick.

One AVB, please

He certainly is.

433, 451, 442, no strikers at all, Saha OFF Distin ON - loads of different ones

Hahahaha

Highlight all of those things that Moyes doesn't have. Tactically he was basic, youth players were brought through painfully slowly, he was rubbish in CL games, and he constantly belittled the club to make himself seem better than he was.

Got through to the knockout stages and only beaten by an excellent side.

Osman, Hibbo, Barkley, Rodwell, Anichebe, the list is incredible.

Completely out foxed Wenger and Ferguson on loads of occasions.

I have no Problem with Pelligrini Emery or DeBoer. My issue with Koeman is that he has had 8 clubs in 16 years. Moyes is history. I think a lot of the press talk is rumours and people inside the club and people interested in the job.

Moyes people telling the Echo he has an interview. The club putting out rumors that Emery and Pelligrini are interviewing this week in a hope to see if Koeman will make his intentions known. It's all a cat and mouse game now.

Think pellegrini would be good for us, I believe 100% he would get us that champions league spot we all crave, having more money is only gonna help us, we have a good squad that needs a few adjustments, pellegrini would definitely attract top players, he has the premier league experience which is good cause it's a very hard league to manage in, most probably the most even league in the world in terms of what a team can achieve, he has never failed to get champions league for city, I know this season they slipped a bit at end but if my boss told me 3 months before I was getting replaced well my attitude and commitment wouldn't be the same. Appointing him would be such a good show of intent for our club.

Moyes.

Tactically flexible.

Let me preface this by saying I do not want Moyes back, although I was always s big fan of his and think he is a very good manager criminally underrated.

On this point though, how many of the managers on our shortlist are tactically flexible? Martinez certainly wasn't. De Boer rigidly plays the same way every game. Koeman has dabbled unsuccessfully with different formations but nearly always falls back on 433 with a target man and pacey wingers. Arguably even the best like Simeone approach games in a certain recognisable way. Wenger too has just put out the same way of playing for the last 15 years. There are not many managers who are tactically flexible. I'd prefer a manager who actually starts with the right team (Moyes) than one who gets it wrong and tries to save it off the bench (Martinez). 'Tactically flexible' basically means you want a manager who will almost always put out the right players in the right formation to win the game (but these formations must be different) and the odd time he's not got it right makes the perfect subs to change the game. Very difficult to find such a manager. Even the continents top teams are comfortable with at most two formations. Once you start taking key players out their performance drops and lots struggle to rescue games they're behind in.

Moyes got fourth place when all he had the choice of was hitting it long to Marcus Bent

Koeman had an embarrassment of riches , couldn't get more than 63 points (less than Moyes best by the way) and got it by CHOOSING to hit it high to Shane Long - who he only bought as his surname was a subliminal message to the team as to their tactical approach. If he'd been able to he would have paired Long and Austin more and hoooooooooooooofed all day.

Let's not waste valuable stadium money on anything other than a safe pair of hands
