Not a great deal of time in reality, and whilst I agree we do not need to rush into a hasty appointment, I believe past the end of May and you are moving into dangerous territory as

a) our better players will be getting tapped up, so without any guidance from Everton management we have little chance of realistically holding onto them and
b) lots of players out of contract and dead wood needs clearing thus new targets identifying and approaching their clubs and agents.

Added to that the euros starts 10 days later, so lots of players away on international duty.

Further than the end of May and I reckon we may have some issues.
