Somehow Ranieri has made good and average players at Leicester into an exceptional team. We want one of them.
If LVG lingers at MU, then either Mourinho would be a miracle, or a short-lived disaster here, and Moshy can afford him. Got to be worth a pop?
Or Pellegrini may have a point to prove, though I don't feel he has the same energy, and he has not quite done it with the all stars.

If at all possible we should go for simeone. A quality manager who wants to manage in the prem. He's kept athletico up there in a league traditionally dominated by barca and real. Would be able to attract top players and command respect of the players we have already. We need someone like this to keep our best players anyone of a lesser pedigree and you can wave bye bye to the core of our team and start again.

does he? sure i read somewhere that he doesnt want to as he thought he would struggle with the language

I'm only going on what I've read in the past Neil999. If I'm wrong then it would be a no starter. Either way we need to make a statement of intent rather than go for another supposed up and coming manager like Martinez. This is assuming that moshiri does get rid of course and not surprise all of of us and give RM £100m to spend in the summer.

Here's my hypothetical replacement shortlist..

..but I think whoever we go for (should the current incumbent be fired), should have a proven track record in a top league.

I know @The Esk isn't keen on Jose Mourinho, and I understand why, but someone of his professional standing and pedigree at least.

Lets get someone who isn't afraid to call it how it is...

Someone who drops under performing players and wants to win at all costs.

Time for the Spanish Brendan Rodgers to go.

I like Pellegrini and i think he has been hung out by City since day 1 and especially this year. What manager could work in that enviroment of rumours and then been told your job is gone. It was clear that they wanted Pep all the time. His teams play good football and he is a proven winner. My worries about him would be his age.

Hes wasted a fortune on rubbish players. Martinez is vastly superior at buying quality.

Hes also probably going to finish outside of the top 4 with a massively expensige squad including £50mil sterling, £32/42mil mangala and Otamendi LOL

Hes a total failure.
