Would Mancini be "almost universally popular"?So basically, reading between all the lines.
It's Roberto Mancini.

Beginning to think it could be Mancini...Our fossorial friend is correct in that it now seems Koeman has only eyes on a bigger prize than us beyond next season.
However as I mentioned on Tuesday evening matters elsewhere have been developing and this emerging candidate would be almost universally popular. He is also consistent with the "if the preferred candidate was out of contract we would have announced it by now" theory discussed yesterday.

Seriously though, if Koeman has knocked us back then we've dodged a bullet. Be arsed with anyone that would rather manage Southampton than Everton.
If Moshiri thinks it's Koeman, then I'll back that call and see what happens.
I've got absolutely no doubt he would improve us.
Voted Koeman now but would be more than happy with FDB.
Certain it will be one of those two.
Don't really think it's a case of him knocking us back for Southampton, but more a case of it being easier to jump ship in one or two seasons time. Sign a new contract a Soton now and agree they won't kick up a fuss if Arsenal/Barca come calling. I'm convinced the latter being his ultimate ambition. Don't think Moshiri would agree easily to such a deal.Seriously though, if Koeman has knocked us back then we've dodged a bullet. The only universally popular candidates I can think of are Emery and Simeone. Be delighted with either.
Former blue, local lad.
Welcome home Alan.
