Apologies. Well done Walter for picking out the key bit there. They may not be the champions you're right. The point is they are the richest club in the country and favourites to win everything this year as well.

Richest, yeah. The best is debatable. Arsenal and even Leicester are giving them a run for their money. Even Liverpool battered them at the with ad. We went 3-1 up against them. We had a two goal cushion . Tactically our manager let us down.

Brave effort but we should have done better.

constant game mis-management.

Really? You're super qualified are you? Have you got your Fifa Pro Coaching licence to hand? Or is it one you need to print out of your gran's PC from Fifa 16/Football Manager?

Did you similarly think so poorly about Martinez when he ripped apart his first season here?

It's down to defence. We know we can do it. We conceded 2 goals in total in three games again Spurs and City in the cup at home and City away.

We can do it. It's there. It just requires consistency.

Too many people knee jerking. It's pitiful.

Take Howard and Stones out the team and there will be an instant improvement.

If either plays this weekend I will fume.

You do realise you're talking about a championship team here. I'm all for people doing their best to make out Swansea beating us at home is somehow ok because 'anyone can beat anyone' but honestly Boro are a championship side, I'd expect us to comfortably beat them home and away with ease.
Dave has selective memory when it comes to defending Martinez, one argument he is saying we were playing the best team in the country but then missing the fact that Boro are a division below us when saying we 'obliterated' Boro.

Isn't that the problem though? If we had any desire to improve, he should be under massive pressure right now. Don't know about you, but settling for mid-table mediocrity is unacceptable. We're closer to being relegated than we are to CL which is what Bobby told us he'd get us.
In case you hadn't noticed this squad with great potential has been built by Martinez and he's done it in two seasons. They play great football going forward and need a better defence set up behind them. That's where it needs to improve. But some want to scupper the whole project and start again.

We played better football under Moyes.

Not all the time, but I recall much better football under Moyes at certain times, you wont admit it, but you know im right. At times Moyes DID play dire shut up shop football, but other times we played with freedom and attacked at pace.

Our current death by football wins der passing, but doesnt entertain me, I havent been entertained since Southampton away in August, so stick your entertainers tag up your anus.

Agreed. Lukaku and Deulofeu are supreme offensive talents but this 'football from the gods' is often just Del crossing to Lukaku. Or it's us running the length of the pitch on a counter attack. Facing a team that sits back and doubles up on Deulofeu? Nothing, we have absolutely nothing else except the occasional Barry cross from deep.

The football in the 07/08 side was far far above the level we're seeing now. For a few years that midfield was so good you could stick Fellaini and Cahill up front and we'd still comfortably put away sides at home. Arteta Osman Pienaar and Baines all interchanging with Cahill and Yakubu up front, it was great. Look at some of the goals that season they're brilliant team efforts.

Back then the football was at times so consistent that you could turn up at Goodison against any side outside the top 5 and know you were going to do them with ease. Obviously it wasn't always like that, but when we had all those midfielders fit and in form the lower teams couldn't live with us. Now they all view Goodison as a candy shop and could just as easily win 3-0 as they could lose by the same score.

You just said its down to goalkeeper only . Now it's defence.

We are consistent in conceding goals . Average of nearly two a game.

Why is this project taking so long? So he's fixed half the team in nearly three seasons (quite an easy fix as well when you can buy a 30 mill striker and get gifted Barkley), how long does he want to fix the rest of it? Why have the likes of Ranieri and Pochettino fixed Leicester and Spurs entire teams in one or two seasons?

What about his track record anywhere leads you to believe he can resolve the defensive issues? He had the same problem at Wigan. The only time our defense has looked competent was his first year here when Moyes defense was still n tact and Jags, Distin, and Baines were all at their top level.
