Which makes that position just as critical.
I found it a bit worrying that he talks about having to change the way City played in the third season - because of the players that he had, almost like they weren't the players he wanted. Maybe he asked for another player like Silva (Pogba for example) and didn't get him.

Problem I can see with Pellegrini is that he may not have been involved in buying players so he may not have his finger on the pulse - we need to rebuild our team.

I think it depends on how it works.
I would have thought the Manager would tell the DF that he is looking for an attacking left midfielder for instance.
So the DF goes out and finds maybe 3 or 4, then the Manager picks one out of them.
For me this is the only way it could work, otherwise I'd be pissed off if I was the Manager.

....I wouldn't think either appointment is dependent on the other. The only dependency is that the coach agrees to work with a DoF.

.....you have to think that if he (or De Boer) were priority candidates one would have been appointed by now. I suspect the person(s) Moshiri most wants is/are still to agree or we are negotiating with his club.

If we got Moyes back what do you think the reaction of the fans would be? It could be the first time ever there is banners/protests about a manager before he's even managed a game. I personally would be done with them.
