I'll risk the dry bumming! Koeman being backed. He was drifting and you could have got odds between 7/1 and 10/1, but literally in the last few minutes his odds have tumbled across the board..

Maybe with him returning from holiday today things have progressed on that front too? Skybet in particular had him at 8/1 ten minutes ago, now 5/2.

It's definitely looking like a two horse race, as the Esk alluded to a few days ago.

Everyone for the past two weeks checking this thread like:

Ok so at the very bottom of the article, it says:

Además, el Sevilla sabe que Monchi no quiere trabajar en ningún otro club español sino que su deseo es aceptar la oferta del Everton.

Which, according to Google, translates roughly as:

In addition, the Seville Monchi know that will not work in any other Spanish club but their desire is to accept the offer from Everton.

I read this as Sevilla would rather Monchi comes to Everton, and are therefore more likely to accept an offer i.e. compensation, as opposed to Monchi working for another Spanish club.

Does that make sense to anyone else?

It does make sense. Why effectively sell, (for buttons) a major asset to a competing club in your own league?

Who's turn is it to explain that latest betting odds are practically no indication whatsoever of who our next manager is going to be?

My guess - people have read Gregg O'Keefe's latest Echo article - which suggests Koeman is number 1 choice - and have put a bit of money on. The odds have come in as a result. Simple as that. Pretty much meaningless.

The other thing about emery of course he's coached in Russia which suggests money would certainly be a major consideration for him which is obviously something we won't have a problem in giving him
