Think the catastrophic mistake you've made there is assuming that every newspaper article stating who our preferred choice is, is bang on the money.

Media have barely been able to look past Moyes, Unsworth, even Stubbs has probably had more column inches than Emery. They've just not been anywhere near this story.

*Currently have the Europa League final waiting to be watched here but I refuse to until he signs, because if I do and it's Koeman, I might cry a little*

Also reading up on my Klopp vs Emery stats in preparation of the relentless 'you only signed him because he beat us' comments about to come our way from all my RS mates... I need to be armed!

You're right. That's a bit of a blunder.

Almost as bad as the software company my mum worked as a programmer for in the late 70's effectively inventing Windows, but not taking it mass market. Oops.

I would have called it 'portholes'. So much more marketable.

Because until it is done it is not done, so until you have a signature you have to look for alternatives. It also applies pressure on Emery which is no bad thing, and ultimately Koeman was initially Moshiri's first choice but as I've said many times left the door open for Emery to become the preferred candidate.

Our negotiating position is stronger with two candidates. The position is Emery's to take or leave but he knows that Koeman is once more a contender if for whatever reason he procrastinates.

I'm still of the opinion Emery will take it.

Hi Esk, both yourself and the mole have implied that an offer has been made to Emery and the club pushing for a deal to be tied up this week. As both managers concerned (RK being the other in the frame) are both under contract does this mean that permission to talk to the managers has been granted by their respected clubs? If so, I've not heard anything about this and usually in these cases you do hear about it.

If permission to talk hasn't yet been granted, then how can an offer be made to a manager (Emery in particular as the implication is that one has) and also wouldn't the chances of getting this tied up before the weekend seem ambitious at best?

Hmmm, 31st May Leeds sack Evans - 2 days later about to appoint Monk.....

Why does is always take Everton a long time to complete things.....I know we need the right man and when you are negotiating potential buy out clauses or contracts this can take time, however I have to be worried with what happens when we do appoint someone.

With the Euro's starting in one week do we have enough time to source potential players or would the number one targets already have new clubs in mind or have already signed......

I really hope this can be resolved soon !!
We can't rush into these things. Be patient and trust the board
