Should we remember our place, doffing our caps to other teams on their way to the title?

No, never.

But money alone hasn't got Spurs any further than us - or Leeds or VILLA or Newcastle! City are an embarrassment. At least Man Utd won the title and CL with a home grown group of players, like Arsenal initially did under Wenger until he decided he wanted to do it predominantly non-home grown talent trying playing like Barcelona (which failed).

I want this club to be led by people that have already helped successfully lead it once and invest in Stadium + Youth NOT AGENTS AND MERCENARIES.

Fair enough. I still think whoever comes out of Emery/Koeman both have an element of risk and each of them deserve a fair crack of the whip, since regardless of what we think we've gleaned from their record on their wikipedia page, we don't know how they'll do at Everton.

Agreed. Whoever it is should get a fair shake. My preference is a more tactical manager. Hence the favre and Emery hope.

That being said, Raiding Southampton for their manager who's never won anything outside the Netherlands doesn't really give me the urge to set off fireworks and do the Riverdance.

'Look at United, Chelsea and city recently'.

Winning all those trophies and stupid stuff like that.

..All joking apart, this is exactly how I want other fans to be talking about Everton. Not interested in being everybody's second club any more.

Lets just embrace mediocrity then yeah?

No, never.

I don't think our players, fans, or ground or the guys in the set-up of the club are mediocre. I doubt any of us think they are.

They've outplayed their financial place in the table for many years and guys like Unsworth, Big Dunc, Moyes, Arteta, Cahill, Pienaar careers of Osman and Baines, Coleman, Jags and overseas lads like the Yak, Yobo, Lukaku are the reason I love the club. I am AMAZED on the focus on manager though. The esk wrote a brilliant article that calls out where Everton need to invest to catch the richer clubs (richer, not bigger) and all this hysteria and jerking off with stats about this or that manager just completely masks where our priorities should be.

STADIUM. YOUTH. Get that right and we won;t have to chase any Manager.

You may be disappointed then mate...

All the noise is coming from Holland - makes me think that Koeman's agent leaked the meeting details. (Maybe to force a better contract offer from Soton)?

More twists in this than a Tarantino movie
