Thats not entirely true now is it? He has won a trophy with Valencia (and some other jarg charity shield type cups).

End of the day, he wasn't going to Spain and breaking up anything there. Dunno what happened at benfica.

His record of 8 clubs in 16 years is the more concerning thing. Pochettino had won F all too hadn't he? and i think his time with Espanyol wasn't exactly inspiring.

Not number one choice, but a bad appointment considering what we have put up with in the last 2 years? Not a chance. When was the last time we poached a manager from a team above us in the Premier League?

Don't get me wrong i wouldn't be upset. Certainly not the way I would that fraud Moyes walked in. Just hate the thought of the club being used as a stepping stone when I feel it should be a destination. Partly the reason I'm so irritated with lukaku.

The thought of monchi/Emery coming to Everton to build something was amazing. Though if Emery turned the offer down koemen is certainly a solid option. Rather him than de boer etc.

Seventh and then sixth I recall.

To be honest, I didn't realise the new ambitions of the club since Moshiri arrived were to aim for sixth place. My apologies.

No, but it's a far cry better than 11th.

And he's done it on a limited budget having had to deal with the mass exodus of key players each window.

1st season - OUT: Lallana, Lovren, Lambert, Shaw

2nd season - OUT: Clyne, Schneiderlin.

All the while he's shown an astuteness in the transfer market (Tadic, Mane, Van Dijk, Pelle, etc...) and looked to play expansive football with a solid base, while also not being afraid to encourage and integrate youth into the first team.

he won the cup at Benfica as well.

There's positives and negatives to both Emery and Koeman, but for sake of argument, Emery's average stint at a club so far is just under 2.5 years. Koeman's is 2 years bang on.
