No media outlet has ran with this at all. If it was a done deal somebody would know surely.
Ideal scenario for me would be emery to take it but we let it be known koeman wanted it. To shut up the media melts and the Southampton bells

Mate, sadly that is modern footy, player or manager, either will kiss any badge so long as the money's good. The days of CARRAGHER/GIGGS et al are long gone...

Which is a shame TBH.

in the main yes I agree but Moyes was here for 10 years, Im sure he turned down many a job to stay too, Bobby would have stayed for the long term I think if he hadn't been booted out....they both wanted to action their long term plans and appreciated being Everton manager. Ronald would be gone next summer if Arsenal come in for him and couldnt give a FF about us whereas I think Emery would be looking at 3 or 4 years to build it up before moving on...and Id much rather that

Van dijk was down the road at Celtic. Not exactly deep diving. I never credited Emery with recruitment same as I don't think koemen had a major hand in it. Monchi recruitment with Emery tactical know how was the dream for me personally.

Like I said i wouldn't be upset but to me koemen is a stop gap. Emery/monchi would be coming to build something.

I'm pretty sure Van Dijk said explicitly that he turned down other offers to join Koeman as he was a manager he respected greatly. Koeman had tracked him from his days in Holland as well.

He brought in Tadic who was something of a hidden gem at Twente, and sealed the Clasie deal who was starting to show how good he can be towards the end of the season.

And mate, how can you claim that Emery would be any less of a stop-gap than Koeman when, seriously, the average time spent at clubs is Emery 2 and a half years (rounded up) and Koeman 2 years. It's not exactly like Emery builds dynasties.

The DoF is the one who will have that job - of setting in place a style etc. - whoever it ends up been.

Both are great managers.

Koeman positives, prem league experience, great transfer window decisions, tactically very good.

Koeman negatives, aesthetically not as cool, seems to jump ship easy (we do well, offer comes in, he bails. Its not unheard-of its just plain human)

Neither manager seems to have experience with a large transfer 'war chest' they both have done well to lose top talent make cash nd rebuild for cheaper but not really "hey go splurge 150m + more" (this is where Mancini was a decent choice)

Emery seems to be the better manager. Tactically.

Il always be in the Emery camp. But there is nothing wrong with koeman

Love this thread on one hand Koeman means mid table mediocrity.
On the other we are stepping stone for bigger and better things.

Anywhere in between that will do next season and build from there.

...coming off the back of ROBERTO anything's an improv.

*That's sounds weird, I know...

Have i missed something?

I can't find any of the usual british journos reporting this, it all just seems to have come from one rogue tweet by a dutch bloke nobody had ever heard of. Is there are a reason why everyone's so convinced it's happening (other than bedwetter syndrome)? Also can't see any reports in the spanish media that the emery thing is off.

Can't imagine Koeman himself coming for talks without at least some british reporters getting wind of it, so seems unlikely to me. Not saying it won't happen, but can't see that things are quite as clear cut as some are making out.
I kinda agree with this.
I smell a rat when it said he's on his way to Liverpool.
So Everton have been like Mossad for the last 3 weeks, not even MI5 knew what was going on and all of a sudden some clog head states he's on his way to Liverpool.
I would have thought that Liverpool would be the last place Everton's secret service would hold talks.
