Martinez has gone. Ita a clean slate when hiring a new manager based upon enormous wealth and supposed major plans for the club.

Personally i was expecting a top class manager such as FDB /Cocu or conparable...a winner.

I didnt want Emery either but would gladly take him now rather than koeman.

if kenwright had appointed koeman id be calling for his head

Lol at FDB and cocu being top class managers

I have faith in the Mosh on this one, because there is no alternative other than the despair I see some have inadvisedly chosen.

Rook en een pannenkoek, Ronald ?

Alot of people seem to think 'The Mosh' is the saviour of our club and lets hope he is. But calm down, we dont know anything about his plans and all of the noises from the club are evolution not revolution. I heard someone talk the other day about the 100mi we have been promised......really promised by who? Your mate at the pub who knows someone? The club certainly have not made such promises (also with the Tv deal 100mil may not be a huge amount anway)

50 votes more and 55 people voted for Moyes so I wouldn't use the voting as your argument against koeman.

Well, more voters jumped ship when the Koeman rumours got to boiling point yesterday. Up to then Frank de Boer was definitely more wanted than Koeman.

You'd rather have top class manager Frank de Boer, who has only ever managed one team, a team that already happened to be one of the top teams in the Dutch league? You're out of your mind.

which beggars belief to be honest - especially given how Martinez-esque he is, and that he has ZERO managerial experience in a proper league

So much wham in here it's getting Kopite

Listen lads, for us to have swayed an incumbent from a club that can easily be argued that are 'better' than us in every conventional metric tells us a lot.

It is a clear indicator that Moshiri is planning for the long term, has a substantial amount of money to spend on transfers and I suspect may have even made guarantees about a new stadium.

That's [Poor language removed] amazing? Prior to him arriving we were battling with Joe Anderson over vapor plans. It's a new dawn enjoy it, you will be telling your grandkids that you had a season ticket in the 16/17 season that you actually saw the 20/21 team in the flesh.

You never even heard of Emery till last week you better bad biffs.

Fair enough BUT he took over favourites in holland, won the league then nosedived.

If we ignore his times at valencia, benfica and AZ and focus on feyenoord and aouthampton...

Hes kept them where they were before he joined and slightly improved them...for me, thats the standard requirement of any manager.

Other than pellegrini its probably the most unimaginative choice to make.

Keep fighting the good fight mate variety and opinions should be welcomed!

So much is on perception really. Can I put something to you? After AZ he had a reflective period. He was 50 so still quite young. He made some changes in his style.

In his last two jobs he has been impressive. At Feyenoord he blooded lots of young players and he has done ok at this at Southampton too.

Is his previous career so bad, with multiple titles wins that we have to throw out the good he has done later in his career?

I think he is a middle of the road appointment. It is far from sealed. I am still praying for emery. I'm cautiously optimistic about koeman though. He had managed big clubs.

Have any of you seen this site with a world ranking of club coaches: http://www.coachworldranking.com/ranking-coaches.aspx

Emery ranked 5th in the world (no doubt following the cup success last week, but was has high as 2nd in Feb 2015): http://www.coachworldranking.com/ranking-coaches/wd/22/yr/2016/name/emery

Koeman ranked 68th in the world (highest rank 58th): http://www.coachworldranking.com/ranking-coaches/wd/22/yr/2016/name/koeman

I haven't got a clue what this is based on but they do have points against their names so I assume its statistical/logical like fifa rankings (which I am aware are often *****), just thought it was interesting considering a lot of us (me included) hadn't heard of Emery 2 weeks ago, so he's obviously regarded well in other countries?

I'd been leaning towards Koeman because of his CV and prem experience... but if we get Monchi surely we want Emery too as they've worked together well in the last few years? Plus away form isnt an issue for us lol!
