I can't say I'm not disappointed. Emery, Simeone and Mourinho would have been perfect but it's understandable why we didn't get them.

Moshiri has always liked koeman and I think that is very important. He has interviewed candidates and it seems Koeman has excelled. It seems koemans vision of the club matches his own.

At present we don't know what Moshiri wants but I have seen enough to be optimisic. That Moshiri likes him is enough for me to give him a chance.

Let's put it this was. When the season begins the same squad minus Lukaku with 150 million plus spent on it (possibly by Monchi) managed by Koeman is an exciting prospect. We will be right in the mix!

He has managed big clubs, Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord & Valencia. He has managed clubs expected to win the league and delivered. Not every club has gone well but he appears to have learnt from that and his last two jobs he's done well.

Worst case scenario I expect we will be in the top 6. Who knows what else we can achieve? It seems a perfect fit in many ways to me.

A massive club that's lost its way alongside an icon of the game and a talented manager who lost his way. I think he will love Everton if it goes well.

Coyb.

Most of this is utter poppycock.

To be quite honest mate.

I mentioned you in an earlier despatch Bungle; it was message toward communicating the members herein this forum I hold existentially (GOT-wise) dear to me.

Notwithstanding your short fuse toward noisy 'other people's' children in cinemas, you provide ineluctable gravity to the often wayward orbit we attempted force-wise, must navigate herein.

And I thank you for that.

*blushes*

How many years do you think Koemans contract will be? It's no secret Koeman covets the Barca/Holland job, so signing a long term contract kind of scuppers that for a good few years, but I can't see Moshri paying him a lot of money, without assurance he will be there for a good chunk of time?
Id expect Moshiri to tie Virgil down for 6 years.

Feel for you, hated revising for exams too!

Btw Koeman seemed to integrate far fewer academy players into your squad than Pochettino - was that down to a decreasing quality in your U21/U18 lads or does he just not favour youngsters as much?
It was much much easier to introduce Shaw, Chambers, Lallana, Bale, Ox ect, when we were in the lower leagues and could give them playing time. Past three years, we have been in the top 8, so opportunities have been harder to come by for the youngsters, but targett and JWP have both featured a good amount this season. So I wouldn't blame the lack of youth on Koeman.

Secondly, the current youth intake were recruited when we were in administration in League 1, so the quality is a bit lower, than it was, but I expect it to pick up in the coming years as the club managed to get out of that mess. I'm excited to see the last few years youth intake, when they make it to the first team! The next big thing from the Saints academy is a lad called Callum Slattery.

there was an article posted a load of pages back with koeman saying he was disappointed with standard of players currently in southamptons u21/academy teams. so he should be well pleased when he finally joins us.

Koeman has to earn the right to manage Barca. So far he hasn't done that. Or I'm I missing something?
