Well for 1 you have oversold Moshiri, this is a man that supported Wenger at Arsenal, a glorified accountant and I mean Wenger, not Moshiri.

Hes a very good businessman, but to say his decision making with regards football is flawless is very wrong.

You then say Koeman has done well at every club, hes stank the place out at 5 of the 9 clubs hes managed, hardly a glowing reference.

You then say worst case you see us in 6th? A team thats finished 11th for 2 seasons being managed by a failure of a manger? Be lucky to finish 19th IMO and Newcastle spent a vast sum of money and still went down.

Anyway, just a few points I extracted.
Unbelievable finish 19th that's what we're up against in these posts. You would be inconsolable if we actually did well..imagine it.

Perhaps - but I don't honestly recall a positive post. You were on fire last night..

You did say this though:

Right - as earlier there was no meeting today at FF and he was not sacked. Situation has changed within the last hour and RM has RESIGNED - Orly / Mout you can hunt me down tomorrow if this isn't confirmed. To be fair to RM he has shown at least a dignity - must have realised the tidal wave of fan opinion.

But that's none of my business.

there was an article posted a load of pages back with koeman saying he was disappointed with standard of players currently in southamptons u21/academy teams. so he should be well pleased when he finally joins us.
Was concerned as that sort of excuse can just provide useful cover for a manager tjat can't be bothered to spend the time and risk developing young players when they plan to move on in a short time anyhow.

@FriendlySaint seems to back up the quality issue though - guess we'll see if ours match up any better in Koeman's eyes!

Cheers mate I appreciate the honesty!

I am very optimistic about Moshiri. He's not flawless but I think he has been effective. I am also happy to back his judgement even if it's not my own.

I didn't mean to make out he's been a success at every club. He was poor at AZ and Valencia! I think he has learnt a bit from that though and done pretty well at his last two jobs.

I'll be honest 6th if the scenario occurs. If we get Monchi in we will spend well. He took over Southampton when they were in a mess and got them to 6th/7th. He also did a similar job with Feyenoord.

I suppose I should clarify worst case scenario. Anyone can mess up. However given the evidence of the last 5 years I'd be surprised if we were much lower than 6th if we can support him properly.

My gut feeling is he may be a decent fit. I didn't get that with Pellegrini of Mancini. Anyway thanks for the post!
