Why gutted? He's not a bad manager

I'd be a bit deflated after thinking we'd be getting Emery, but not gutted

Last season was one of the worst for me, my motivation and resentment of the team I loved playing the way they did and not caring and losing points in some of the most shocking ways changed my whole concept of supporting football and enjoyment of it. Now with an opportunity to bring back the NIL SATIS NI OPTIMUM and the create the love of our great team, it is an uninspiring choice, could he be brilliant? yes but we have a chance to get a real beast of a manager to kick ass and terrorise this league, I would nearly spend a lot more and get better managers out of contracts if possible, than to do it for koeman. The manager is the most important person of our team, it all gets direct from him, worth more than a 13m midfielder or attacker, so don't aim big and get mediocre aim big and spend and get big. Don't know who or who would want to come but this could be the most important signing to start the everton revival off

I like the guy, he comes across well and he's done well under constraints at Soton. I really hope he's a success and proves a lot of people wrong.

I'm sure there were many Spurs' fans moaning when ponch was hired from Southampton. Just look at how that appointment worked out....

We simply cant have offered Emery the same wage, thats why he jibbed us off.

Or Emery was using us to get more funds for players for Sevilla (since achieved) and has his eye on other opportunities at home and abroad? And he looked at Everton, and thought they have just sacked a Spanish manager.

Koeman has probably been the best manager in the league over the last 2 years. He'll do well at Everton. We just need to wait and see how well.

Hes the best manager that's both (sort of) available and interested, no point talking about Simeone and Emery, they just don't want it.

Like has been said many time here, it's a stepping stone for both him and us, if he does well he'll go to Barca or whatever in 2 years, if he doesn't do well he'll go to Villa, either way we'll move on to better things, seeing as we're loaded and everything.

He's not a 'top manager'.

Seems like we have 'missed' out on Jose or Emery and have gone for A) the only choice we had left. No doubt it will be B) claimed it was his number 1 choice.


I'm just saying if we have high aspirations we should seek to achieve them. I'm not saying Koeman isn't a promising manager C) but for us?

My own personal choice has been Emery for about 7 years. I've said it on record here.
Koeman? Nah. Not for me sorry.

Is right Bry...JOSE should have been well onboard, don't understand it meself, y'know, how he could possibly not want to be involved in a vanity project like ours would have been to him, with little us, gross underachievers that we are. Fool to himself going to that there MAN UTD's.

And as for EMERY KB'ing us (allegedly)...what an utter whelk he turned out to be eh, setting the world on fire with his three tin-cups, his fair-to-middling league form and his little money-MUNCHKIN upstairs....

And so it leaves us with RON, the pumpkin-headed, hugely decorated ex-player that he is, with the been-there-done-it-bought-the-bra-AND-thet-shirt credentials and a stock that's very much on the up...courted too, it seems, and ear-marked for much bigger jobs in the future an' stuff as well...and here he is, on the verge of joining us...crap innit mate.

Especially when we could have had Gary Monk or Owen Coyle...or even that FREDDIE STARR fella just sacked from LEEDS.

Anyway...

It'll be a fine appointment, support it, enjoy it, embrace the change...

To repeat, if RON was/is the MOSH's 1st choice from the outset (and I firmly believe he was) then it seems he's gonna - and quite stubbornly - get his man. Tell me that doesn't bode well for the future? A billionaire owner intent on getting what he wants...
