That's what those lovely people at rawk are hoping, but the fact is that at this point all we know is what we've read and heard, which is speculation in the press and Everton forums. We've heard nothing from Everton, Southampton or Koeman.

The whole thing may be fantasy.

Betting markets such as betfair exchange 1/16 tells its own story

Yo yo club was a throwaway comment. I was taking the mick a bit with my original post, I've been to Southampton away a few times and I think you're a decent club, decent stadium etc.

The underlying point stands though.

There is a food chain in football and you are beneath Everton. In the eyes of the average Evertonian you are not even close. It was rather surprising to read posts from Southampton fans thinking otherwise.

However, even if we get Koeman and we then do well over the next season or two, the chances are that in a couple of years a massive club will come and take him off us. I accept that. Just like we are probably about to lose Lukaku.

I don't think any normal football fan would argue about the different size and history of our two Clubs but, you can't argue the last 3 or 4 years our two clubs have been traveling in 2 different directions. And as I've said before history itself doesn't guarantee future success!

And congratulations on that.
Am I right in thinking Everton were founder members of the League? We on the other hand had to work our way up from being non existent!

Everton
Aston Villa
Bolton Wanderers
Stoke (later renamed Stoke City}
Accrington (different club from Accrington Stanley)
Blackburn Rovers
Burnley
Derby County
Notts County (oldest existing club)
Preston North End
West Bromwich Albion
Wolverhampton Wanderers

Southampton fan -
Some serious rule breaching gone on here. At no point have Everton contacted Southampton and asked their permission to speak with their currently contracted manager. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour and I hope that they are taken to the cleaners for it.

I like this new us.

I was a bit gutted at the thought of waiting even longer after reading the words, "...with announcement set for this weekend." But then I realised, it is this weekend. :celebrate:
Very true but how did you feel when you realised its the daily mail?

Please please read this from saints Web ITK.

Make my day. [Poor language removed] it made my week

"Everton’s interest in appointing Ronald Koeman was considered so unlikely to tempt the Southampton manager that key figures at the club cannot recall there even being a meeting about it. The polite answer being that they would not expect to lose a player to Everton, and certainly not their manager."
