They sold a heap of players to the RS for silly money and now theyve done the same to us and are getting a better manager whether its emery or fdb.
I know the bookies aren't always too accurate in these markets but emery and Roberto Martinez are similar prices for the Southampton job at 12s and 14s (oddschecker). The frontrunners appear to be Kdb, Andre Villas-Boas and Eddie Howe at much shorter prices.

I think it's the most pragmatic appointment at this moment in our development, who knows maybe in a couple of years time the Mosh may not be impressed and will be looking for a "Simeone" to take us on,all this after a COC Cup,FA Cup and a Champions League top four finish:)

Me too, just can't get excited about him. Not the massive statement we were promised.

Promised by who? An Internet forum?

We have been nowhere for 2 years, and have poached a manager from a team 5 places above us who has a huge standing in the game and has proved himself in this league. It's a massive step forward for us and I'm sure he will get us back on track pretty quickly.

Not sure what people expected.

He was at FEYENOORD with a massively tarnished reputation cloaked in failure.

Would have cost buttons.

And?

So what your telling me is that we have recruited a manager who was not winning everything for years?

When was the last time feynord won the league? I mean it hasn't been in at least 7 years, so failure at a club other managers have not been successful at?

A quick Google also tells me koeman had first team players sold on him and replaced by youth players on the whole. Shocking he didn't succeed when he lost a lot of key players with little replacements.

People whinging that Emery would have been a 'bigger statement' should wonder what it would be like getting beat in every away game. No manager has the silver bullet, a lot of a club's success stems from the combination of manager and players at that time. Leicester being a good example. It's horses for courses with managers, players and clubs. Fingers crossed we've got it right this time.

I'm actually getting quite excited at the prospect of Koeman coming is as manager but if Saints get Emery I'm gonna mega fume.

They won't. He wasn't totally sure on the vision sold by Moshiri for Everton. He won't buy Southampton and their small time ambitions.
