Reading the saints forum they are claiming Koeman doesn't want to go but was in fact caught out in a game of bluff by his agent and now has to come to us whether he wants to or not as bridges have been burnt. No idea how true that is but might explain why he's suddenly run away on holiday for the second time in 2 weeks???

Freeee Koeman Mandela Ffs.

Probably : here's the post which someone else said was true:

"Koeman doesn't really want to go.....but he is now being forced.
Bridges are burnt.
His agent has played a game and bluff has been called.
There's loads to this.
Beside the money.
Koeman should've never shown interest in Everton...well it was the agent actually.....tits up spring to mind.

He will toe the line.

He will toe the line meaning I presume he will be unveiled as the manager tomorrow

If any of that was true, he sacks his agent and he's fine. Absolute rubbish.

It's self preservation.

No, not my point at all. While I rate Koeman highly, I do see him as an upper mid level manager who has been brought in to prepare the way for a top tier boss in 5 years time. With us feasibly kicking off in a new stadium in 5 years, sustained years of squad improvement behind us, increased commercial revenues and probably new investors on board, then we can go for Jose and very likely land him. Hughes was in that similar transitional time at City, he was just the stepping stone on the way to greater things.
AT.
How would you have categorised Ranieri's appointment last Summer?
Things have changed so much in football it is difficult to tell what lies ahead for the season.
First, however he has to be appointed.
But, the real indicator of where we are as a club will be our transfer activity this summer.

Latest pictures of Koeman at Finch Farm.

Hahahahaha FFS.

They're utterly deluded. They have spent more time outside of the premier league in the last ten years than in it, but they're somehow struggling to understand why their manager would want to join us.

It must be a conspiracy, Pochettino and then Koeman.

lol

Yeah that makes sense.
A middle aged football manager with experience all around Europe and able to control highly paid temperamental footballers cannot control his own agent and "toes the line".

The delay does seem odd. Surely it can't just be about compensation I mean at some point the amount owed to Soton should be black and white with respect of buying out his existing contract?

Probably just waiting for photo ops and such to be complete.

I was as skeptical as anyone and even I think this is over now.

No one is agreeing or signing to a million pound contract by accident, it just wouldn't happen, both parties would of spoke in depth and agreed, he's liked what he's heard and that's that

No mate hes being forced against his will to sign a contract for 6m, he would defo much rather stay down south for 2m a year.

I think the Implication is the Southampton board heard about the counter offer and told him to sling his hook. Forcing him to accept the Everton offer as he is now persona non grata at St Mary's.
