Everton make surprise approach for Premier League boss: Toffees face Spanish competition

EVERTON have reportedly enquired with Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini about the possibility of taking over.

Toffees manager Roberto Martinez is under increasing pressure at Goodison Park due to their poor Premier League form.

A fan even invaded the pitch to confront the ex-Wigan boss during Everton's 1-1 draw with Southampton yesterday as unrest with supporters continues.

And Spanish website Super Deporte claim the Merseyside club have asked Pellegrini what it would take to persuade him to become Martinez's successor.

City will part company with the Chilean at the end of the season as Pep Guardiola prepares to take the reigns at the Etihad.

Despite the knowledge he no longer has a future at City, Pellegrini has still led them to their first ever Champions League semi-final appearance.

City face the manager's former side Real Madrid, but Pellegrini may be tempted by the approach.

He is apparently determined to work in either England or Spain, but Everton face competition from La Liga.

Valencia are reportedly chasing Pellegrini too, having sacked Manchester United legend Gary Neville.

An exciting project is being eyed by the manager, so Everton's potential could attract him to Goodison Park with their array of top young talent.

Martinez is hanging on to his job. The Toffees sit 11th in the table, although they have reached the FA Cup semi-finals, meaning a place in Europe for next season is still very much achievable.

While Pellegrini's being targeted, new majority investor Farhad Moshiri is apparently targeting a sensational approach for United target Jose Mourinho.

Everton have apparently spoken to pellgrini now about possible position !
And so we should be talking to him.
He's managed all over the show, won plenty and knows the Prem.

IMO the job he done with Malaga was better than most give him credit for, they only remember him being jibbed off from Real Madrid to get Jose in.
He got a massive points tally that year, and it was the only season Ronaldo didn't score over 30 goals due to injury.

Pelligrini is a top manager.

I was only saying apparently because it's came from a rag if it was a well trusted source I'd be really happy about it because it's finally making a statement about ambition for the club us fans and finally it would be the final nail in the coffin for Martinez

I voted for Pellegrini originally. He wouldn't even have to move house ffs. Surely he'd love to. Best choice outside of the pipe-dream managers imo.
