You have to remember zat that for every promising under 21 maybe 1 or 2 in ten fulfills that potential. For every Rooney there's a Chadwick, anichebe, Vaughan and rodwell

True. Though look at the potential here:

Galloway - Shown he can play left back and id argue hes looked more solid than both Baines and Oviedo (though still young and seems to have had a dip)
.
Connolly - Came in and did well i thought +getting alot of praise from the posters in the youth thread. Can play both full back roles.

Kenny - Seems to be doing ok on loan and has done well in the youth teams for us and england

Holgate - Bought from Barnsley and hopefully can come through next season. Was highly rated when we signed him.

Pennington /Garbutt - Both seem to be good players yet Garbutt has looked good for us and got game time but poor on loan while Pennington has been good on loan.

Theyre all young players who could potentially be at least options at full back as squad players. 6 players there of which if just 2 of them were able to be effective full backs in the squad then its good going + i even forgot Browning who has game time and was out with an injury.

If we had a manager able to develop these players and then not be afraid to play them then longer term we would benefit enormously. De boer and cocu have had to do this at Ajax and Psv and turned players into internationals. Not saying that these particular players would make the England side but at the very least id hope to have squad places covered for both full back positions...

Although he's only 44 he's been a manager for 10 years. His first job was with Lorca who he got promoted to Spanish 2nd division for their first time ever, then got them a record points total the following year missing out on promotion by 5 points. He then moved to Almeira got them promoted for the first time to the 1st division.

He then got the Valencia job at time they were in financial problems, got them to sixth despite this, then next three years finished third in league. Then the job in Russia which didn't work out.

With Sevilla two fifth place finishes and two Europa league wins. He's always had to sell his best players at Valencia and Sevilla. He's worked with some cracking players in David Silva, Juan Mata, David Villa amongst others. He's a very good manager.

Thats impressive.

What do you think is the reason why hes not got a good away record in the league? Also, any idea why he moved to russia if he was doing well in spain-- seems an odd move + total disaster.

Im not sure why some think we couldnt get him, seems as though he would be open to a move if hes ambitious.

I thought I would post this for those that haven't seen it. Its in dutch (which I understand a little of) but it give one an idea of what the spirit is between De Boer and his Staff/Team. :)

Around the 50sec mark...

The only negative on him so far is that article posted a couple of pages back about him sounding like martinez :)
