I think we need someone young in here, like a De Boer or an Emery.
Let's face it, Mourinho has only gone to clubs that have not only had massive amounts of money to spend, but that have also had the groundwork laid for him. Chelsea were a top 4 club when he arrived. Inter, Real were already title challengers when he went. He came back to Chelsea still being in the top four. We'll definitely have money to spend, but it won't be the obscene amount that Mourinho is used to in order to get us anywhere back to the top. And even with new players, I doubt he'd want such a challenge. He'd still walk into a top job where it would require very little of him to win the league. That's why I'd prefer someone who can build something here, someone who's done it before and has the European experience as well. Unai Emery would be brilliant. He'd not only get us back into Europe, but he'd make us compete too.
