Either of Joachim Loew or Jose Mourinho would be an IMMENSE statement of intent from Everton.
Manuel Pellegrini would be a good statement of intent.

Agree... my only issue with Loew is the lack of club management and it looks like he is in no rush for it. Could bring in some quality germans with him too so am ok with that.

You want everton to take a risk and gamble on a younger manager for the incredible small chance we might get a Alex ferguson? Everton have got some great youth players and Ross barkley I feel excited by all that but give up this notion of longevity it's impossible! Due to the trappings of modern football

I guess AVB is the most sensible choice if you want to go young

I actually thought he was the new mourinho and unfairly treated at Chelsea....i also thought the spurs signings were pretty good at the time (lamela i said after first season we should try and get him) yet apparently he didnt make those signings....ao what did he actually do? His win% was high but missed top 4 and lost some games really heavily....

At Zenit @bluestevon said his team scores one and then shuts up shop....a bit like george grahams arsenal i suppose....that wouldnt work here and hes also apparently disliked by the fans and wants to move back to portugal.

Still young but done nothing in a major league...

In all honesty there is very little to choose between Cocu and De Boer. I suppose I think De Boer has won the league more often, but Cocu has won it more recently. Both have developed some fantastic young players.

I don't think he could attract if any of the names above unfortunately. One of the great things at Ajax is they build a loyalty to the club not the manager. All of the above will stay, even lads like Van Der Saar are involved in the marketing. I hope we could do something similar here.

I don't really worry as much about the backroom staff. We have a solid structure at Everton. Sheedy does brilliantly with the under 18's while Unsworth has done well with the under 21's. While I wouldn't advocate all 3 being central figures there is probably room to move at least one of them up with an eye for developing the young players and giving them a familiar face. Perhaps bringing in one coach/figure from Ajax would help the transition alongside the experience we already have at Everton.

I hope De Boer could develop that infrastructure. We have started to keep our ex players involved much better but we could still do more. David Weir (if he's still out of work) should be involved and I would love to see Cahill back in some capacity. if Unsworth/Sheedy move up keeping lads like Osman/Hibbert to help with the younger lads would be a positive for the club.

Thats the key for me, who knows how much his performance is reliant on his backroom team?

Cocu also level with them in the league...

I want Blakey
