Apparently Quique Sanchez Flores has parted company with Watford.

Irrespective of their recent decline I think he would be a good candidate for us. Watford have been incredibly difficult to beat this season, have played some good stuff. He also carried Atl Madrid through a difficult period and won the Europa League and Super Cup with them, and got them to the final of the CDR.

Decent shout if nothing else.

Would hope there was something else before we looked at this option?

With respect, QSF has managed and won trophies at Benfica and Atletico Madrid. He is still relatively young too. Fits the profile for me.

By all means, hang on to your aspirations of Mourinho and Pellegrini etc but It's a path that's only going to lead to disappointment when we end up with Gary and Phil Neville.

I'd be underwhelmed

Exclusive: Manchester United seal deal for Jose Mourinho's Premier League return
MANCHESTER UNITED will announce Jose Mourinho as their next manager within the next two weeks after he signed a deal to replace Louis van Gaal.

Jose Mourinho is set for a Premier League return having been sacked by Chelsea in December
The former Chelsea boss has been in the running to take over at Old Trafford since December but finally signed the contract at the end of last week.

United bosses held off a late bid from French giants Paris St-Germain to secure his services and had hoped to wait until the end of the season to make an announcement.

They didn’t want any distractions ahead of their bid to finish in the places for Champions League qualification as well as FA Cup Final glory.

But they have been forced to bring it forward after news of Mourinho’s signing the contract leaked out yesterday in his native Portugal.

Van Gaal has been under pressure after United were dumped out of the Champions League in the group stages and then failed to impress in the Europa League.

They look like missing out on the Champions League next season after Arsenal and arch-rivals Manchester City moved well clear of them in the Premier League table.

Mourinho, who will be handed full control of transfers, is already working on a list of targets as he looks to bolster a squad that has struggled particularly in front of goal.

That could mean a return for Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, who shares the same agent – Jorge Mendes – as Mourinho.

Hopefully we're aiming higher than Watford's cast off manager mate!!
