7th last season (60 points) and (probably) 8th this. Decent enough but the worst position in the last decade under Moyes was 8th place (61 points).

Context though. His team plays better football technically and tactically. Takes the game to opponents always.

You have to look at a manager's whole picture. Looking at our club we do have a lot of younger players on the fringe of breaking through. I have voted for Pelligrini but I don't know his background in developing youth before he came to England. So I am now veering away. Mourinho is the obvious choice if you want to invest loads of money and also give the club a massive global appeal which we do really need. Of the candidates above I don't know a lot about them giving youth a chance but DeBoer must do it at Ajax. Also I want to put this out there if Mourinho does go to Utd. What would people think if we went for Van Gaal. He has a history of developing young players. Has been fairly successful wherever he has went. I know he has spent loads at Utd but IMO whoever came after Fergie was always on a losing streak.

I want him back more than I want Martinez in charge. Who knows with the experience of coaching abroad and an elite Premier league team might have changed his dithering philosophy. Moyes could do well with some money to spend and a good squad of players at his disposal, he gave us Mirallas, Stones and Barkley, might be able to physically boost the obvious poor fitness in the squad. Could come at a cost, can't see him warming to the outspoken Lukaku. Could do worse because the only other man I would give a chance on the above list is Mourinho the rest are garbage.

If Moyes was still our coach, no non-Evertonian would have heard of Ross Barkley or John Stones.

AVB- too defensive, would make Moyes' teams look like free flowing attacking sides.
De Boer - Massive risk coming from a minor league
Pelligrini - Massively underachieved with City and their defence is almost as bad as ours and their 1st choice back 4 prob cost well over £100m

I tweeted Paddy Power last night for odds on Favre and they offered me 20/1
