I suppose, considering the recent talk of Eddie Howe, it will add something to Saturday's game.

You'd think any proven manager would see our potential (current and affordable new players) and want to come here and wake a sleeping giant. Mourinho or Simeoné would have no problem attracting the right players. Think of the kudos they'd get if they got us into the Champions League.i think he's waiting for UTD, I think he would come here under two conditions.
1) UTD keep Van Gaal or pass on him for Giggs or Blanc, etc
2) He is absolutely dead set on staying in the prem
The only job that seems likely to be open for CL is PSG. So it depends how serious Mourhino is about staying in england. I do think his preference would be utd, psg, then us.Well peps at city now, knowing Jose and his "special one" rhetoric I would imagine he would want a seat in peps oppo corner to end the greatest manager once n for all. Dont see why he would want to come here..he will want champions league next season to flex his manager muscles against the best in europe....or he'll settle for united
Irrespective of who eventually gets the job, I just would like to know IF Everton have at least tried to contact and discuss the job with Jose Mourinho.
If we have and Jose said, 'thanks, but no thanks' then fine.
But if we haven't, I would be very disappointed and have a feeling that perhaps we're not quite as ambitious or daring as we should be.
Jose might be a bumpy ride, but he'd give us a wayyyyyy higher media profile, he would re-invigorate the fan base, would certainly attract top players to the club, and most of all, he's a winner.
The cherry on the cake would be the touch line mayhem with Klippity on Derby days

Koeman and De Boer.
Honestly lad(ie)s, I just don't get it.
If we are money bags, why would we be bringing in just 'decent' or 'unproven'.
I understand that the Dutch league isn't Mickey Mouse but we surely want someone who has at least managed in Italy, England or Spain?
Why Pellegrini? His track record is good but the man is getting on, does he still have passion for the game?
