If this is in any way true, Man Utd are kidding themselves.

Jose Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea in December
Former Chelsea boss Mourinho has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

But Van Gaal declared he will be in charge of the Red Devils next season after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Premier League champions Leicester.

According to the Sun, United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward does not want to get rid of Van Gaal just yet.

And he has asked Mourinho to wait a year before replacing the Dutchman.

Woodward had hoped the Portuguese would opt for a lucrative 12-month spell in the Chinese Super League ahead of a move to Old Trafford.

However Mourinho wants to be back in football this summer, and does not want to wait much longer before getting back to work.

This silence must just mean his faith has already been decided. But still it leaves us fans in a nasty limbo...should we keep protesting even more (just to be safe) or just play down it a bit just to save Martinez from total humiliation.

Pellegrini's tactics do sound good, speaking to a city fan.

High intensity, looking to win ball back and attacking football. Plus city can defend despite what you say about the defenders.

They rely hugely upon Kompany to do that though, just to balance that out.

Last night was a perfect example.

First 10 minutes they were pressing high and preventing any space for Modric, Ronaldo, Bale etc.

As soon as Kompany went off they were out of shape and their pressing game fell apart.

To me, it shows that if you're going to play the pressing game effectively, you need a leader on the pitch to do so. It's something we don't have.

Spurs have it in Vertonghen, Leicester in Morgan even, with Drinkwater also stepping up...

That whole article makes no sense to me, why on earth would anyone ask Mourinho to wait another year? What if LVG wins the league next season are they still going to want Mourinho?? A few weeks in football can be a long time never mind a year! Sports 'journalism', with a couple of exceptions is laughable in this country.
